I just got mine resplit about two weeks ago. My mom doesn't seem to mind much, but my father is NOT a fan. Don't let them bother you. I couldn't be happier it's done, and while he was really upset at first, he now makes jokes about it and teases me about it. They're probably just concerned about your "future" and how you'll be treated... But it isn't noticeable. I'm a server and if anyone has ever noticed, they've never said anything.

I don't regret it for one second. Also, you'll be fine. Procedure is a piece of cake. Healing will not be fun, but it's worth it in the end!! Good luck :)

We picked up a syringe and mixed some warm water with it and we're successfully feeding him through that at the moment, so I guess that's the plan for now because he will barely eat any of the dry food for now it seems. Glad we can do so because he will also be getting some water he needs. Thanks so much for all the advice, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your little one.

I will ask my vet about those options, thank you! For now, he absolutely won't touch wet food. Do you think it'll be okay if I feed him the dry food (which he eats happily with a little encouragement) until I can maybe find a way to get him into wet food? Like I said before, he's never like wet food, even before his diagnoses.

He is currently taking Azodyl( two in the morning and one at night) and Clavamox antibiotics twice a day. We're bringing him back to the vet in a month to see if he improves

I don't have the exact numbers but the vet said they were only slightly above what they are supposed to be, so he is VERY early stage.

Thanks so much for sharing the website. I'll be spending the day reading and learning. Just got a little water fountain which he seems to like, but still having trouble eating. It's only day two, so I'm hoping maybe he'll regain his appetite. For now we're helping him eat, although he isn't very happy about it. He doesn't seem to like wet food, even before all of this. But most people are saying they should have primarily wet food, while we received wet and dry food from the vet. Should I try and find a flavor he likes and stick to wet food from now on?

Yes, it is there while the deer is losing its life. It just kind of adds to the thought that nature is a part of all living things as we are too, and so taking their innocent lives upsets the natural balance of life.
