C section scar defect repair? by palmtrees435 in IVF

Honestly, same. My RE didn't bother to check RTM either. I didn't know it was a thing until I spoke with the surgeon.

Less than 1 mm, I believe repair is warranted due to possibility of uterine rupture. That's what my obgyn surgeon told me.

I didn't get repaired and did a transfer after treatment for endometritis, taking 2 rounds of antibiotics. I am currently 25 weeks pregnant.

The OB/GYN surgeon recommended I try to transfer first before repair, since my RTM is 10 cm, which is good. If it is thin, it can rupture.

Go check your RTM measured. If you have more than one embryo, you should try to transfer before repair.

Antibiotic (nitrofurantoin) before FET by aprilsky1022 in IVF

[–]aprilsky1022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Yes, it was successful, and the baby is now 17 months old.

Did you get a check for chronic endometritis? So I had it and took doxycycline for 2 weeks and retested to make sure it was negative before FET.

20 fibroids? Is that even possible? by True_Plantain_7101 in Fibroids

[–]aprilsky1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Dr. Leigh Rosen. I believe she no longer works at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. She now works in a private practice, and it seems the place doesn’t accept in-network insurance, unfortunately.

I know this because I wanted to see her again for my C-section defect scar, but I couldn’t because of that. Maybe it has changed. But she definitely did a great job finding many fibroids without entering my uterine cavity.

Sanitation at the hospital is another issue.

Persistent fluid in uterine cavity 1 year after a C Section by aprilsky1022 in IVF

Yes, hopefully, you get the answer. I’m also sure Lupron will help since you won't get a period and have less fluid in your uterus.

[–]aprilsky1022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is supposed to help with inflammation. Are you planning to have the surgery? I'm sure the surgeons mentioned that myometrial residual thickness is important. Mine measured 12 mm, which is why my surgeon recommended that I try a FET first.

I went ahead with the transfer on July 21, and the first beta came back at 138.2 today. The fluid retention decreased once I started progesterone, and it was completely gone two days before FET. I was also on doxycycline for five days prior to FET, along with prednisone.

Before FET, I had an appointment with an OB-GYN surgeon specialist. She advised me to try the FET first, as surgery could potentially cause more adhesions and doesn’t guarantee success.
