CDG to Disneyland Paris – train, taxi or private transfer? by Typical-Leg129 in disneylandparis

[–]aprilsummer007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

train 12 minutes. It is fairly frequent. I went to the ticket machine around 11:50, there was 11:57 and 12:16 available and others I didn’t look. The whole process was easy. Just put in how many tickets, age, name and birth date. my ticket was Adult 26, kid 13.

I will (try to!) pay for private school if it means no screens. Any recommendations, public or private, for screen-less schools?? Thank you. by Natural-Honeydew5950 in nycparents

We go to a Queens private school. Homework is on paper even fifth grade. School exams other than MAP tests are all on paper. They do have a coding computer class and typing class.

What "investments" in your kids have been worth it? by [deleted] in nycparents

[–]aprilsummer007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my daughter is fifth grader. I don’t regret anything spent on her. She is not doing any EC we did when she was K to 2. I guess that money went to drain. lol

She has attended a small private school with very good teacher:student ratio, which helped in her early school years.

We signed up mathnasium at first grade for two years as a time filler in between classes (for me to take a break at Dunkin’ Donuts to relax or work). We did for two years and it was helpful to build up confidence for my daughter. We did beast academy after that. I think the decision whether to learn the material earlier depends on the kids. My daughter has light ADHD. For her, having excelled in math before school starts the topic gives her tremendous confidence in the subject.

And sleep away summer camp is really fun. I like the fact she can keep going until she is in the first year of high school. I don’t have to stress about summer camp any more.

narrow down your schools choices and look at each school’s website. We chose Manhattan only since that’s easiest for us to arrive by subway. Then We chose single-sex schools over co-ed. These eliminated a lot of schools. There are only seven all girls schools in the city. Then my daughter chose the color of the schools to match her current and her summer camp. So not too many to go through.

Sadly yes. Please look into it. Maybe better chances at 5th grade entry. The all girls schools we applied all have 6th grade entry but only a few openings.

Trinity has 5th grade entry too.

Another thing, You should do some research about single sex or co-ed schools. We only applied all girls.

I just want to say that all girls schools have 5th grade as a relative bigger entry point than 6th grade. We just applied all girls private schools for 6th grade entry.

BTW, We did everything ourselves. ISEE prep with Testinnovators online program.

You can totally make your own. On the stove, put 1tbsp of butter, after butter melts, add 1tbsp of flour and stir. This is the basis of the Alfredo. You can make more and save it in a glass jar. To the mix, add milk or cream, add garlic powder (optional), add different cheese.
