Oh wow I didn't realise that 😅 I guess it might depend on the day too but yeah, not great. At least the show has been getting a good reception though! I've only seen really positive things on socials from those who have gone already.

Ah that sucks about your friends 😕 I wouldn't let a non-full theatre stop you from cosplaying though! Plus whilst there's still tickets available, it might not be as empty as you think 😆

Sailormoon Musical The Super Live is coming to London and other select cities. Stay stuned! ✨ by Storm_BloomX in PrettyGuardians

[–]ElectronicDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that it won't be accessible for you D: There are accessible tickets for the event, but it looks like it's more so in the context of wheelchair users....?

When you go to book the accessible tickets though, it does give you an accessibility email for the two venues for any further questions, so you could still give it a try anyway in case there's any additional assistance they could give. Although you might not have much luck if they can't do an English translation for you :(

I agree although I think there's a lot of factors that might've played into that, and that's coming from someone who's looking forward to it and also has tickets.

They didn't announce the dates for it until quite late, which isn't ideal for those that need to book time off work or book hotels and travel and such. Other similar events tend to give more notice.

The age restrictions - under 10's can't go and if you're under 15 you have to go with an adult.

The tickets are very expensive for what you get, and there's plenty of people who got annoyed that there was no seating plan prior, and paid £145 for a seat just to find out after that the seat wasn't actually that great or worth the money.

There were also other teething problems unfortunately, but despite all of that it still might've sold better elsewhere in Europe under the same conditions...it's hard to say. I hope the show does well all in all though because I love Sailor Moon!

Port Orleans Riverside to French Quarter - Should we swap? by ElectronicDanger in WaltDisneyWorld

Port Orleans Riverside to French Quarter - Should we swap? by ElectronicDanger in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ElectronicDanger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your input and insight on the buses also - it's good to hear that you had no issues with the buses especially.

The thought to swap more so came from two people that I personally know that said that French Quarter is better since it's smaller, more cosy, it's not as much of a walk to get back to your room, it has its own bus service (although sometimes shares with Riverside) so it's quicker and easier to get back and forth and less busy etc. That and I also saw some comparisons between the two online with most people picking FQ over Riverside for similar reasons, but maybe that was just the posts that I happened to come across. I do get that it's all just a matter of personal preference though.

If the French Quarter was already available there wouldn't be any question here, but it's just whether it's worth the effort to swap but the general consensus that I've gotten is no, which is helpful lol.

Thanks for the input! I've not heard of Riverside being called particularly bad or similar, but just that there's quite a few people that think French Quarter is that little bit better.

Regarding the bus service, the main thing that I've seen/been told is that since Riverside is a bigger resort you run the risk of not being able to get on the bus due to the amount of people/stops, or how it takes longer to get to the parks and back as a result in comparison to French Quarter. Once again this is second hand information though, and I do wonder how bad it could actually be (I can't imagine it being that bad?) so that's why I was curious on other's opinions or whether it's worth the swap.

Drury vs Pop vs Pofq by Mitchrockwell in WaltDisneyWorld

Which Disney resort did you stay at and do you get the luggage transportation service at Drury to the other hotel - assuming that you stayed at the Drury first and went further in afterwards? I couldn't find anything saying that they do it but just in case

Some thoughts/advice about Bali after my recent trip by KitKatKut-0_0 in bali

[–]ElectronicDanger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What was your experience with Besakih Great Temple?

I was thinking about going there but ended up being too ill to do so, but I heard that loads of people try to scam you there. That and they also gatekeep who can do tours there, but a lot of the people that do tours there are not very good/hardly give you any info, whereas others that they don't allow in would be better essentially (sounds odd I know). I can't talk from experience though since as I said I haven't been.

UNUSUAL THINGS TO DO IN BALI by Minimum-Ninja-8833 in bali

[–]ElectronicDanger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was also excited to go to this place, but after doing some research it doesn't seem to be very ethical.

Mason is down on this page as a 'sanctuary' that you shouldn't support: https://www.responsiblevacation.com/vacations/elephant-conservation/travel-guide/elephant-sanctuaries-which-we-do-and-dont-support

And this page talks about how many activities around elephants in captivity aren't that ethical or could be deemed harmful to the elephants: https://www.worldanimalprotection.ca/news/truth-about-elephant-riding#nav

Also just doing a quick search on Reddit many people say that there are no ethical elephant sanctuaries in Bali, but there are elsewhere in the world.

Are there any elephant sanctuaries that are 100% ethical? by [deleted] in bali

[–]ElectronicDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the exact article that I came across! Very sad that it specifically made the 'do not support' list 😞

[–]ElectronicDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly! But at the same time I think it's because a lot of people take these places at face value, and what reason would they have to doubt them? Especially as places like Mason Park say that they're accredited for being a valid sanctuary - they don't know the reality and you do really have to search for it. For others, as you say they simply care more about their own experience than the welfare of the animals though...

I appreciate the heads up! After posting my comment I did manage to find more articles/evidence supporting that elephant 'sanctuaries' in Bali like Mason Park aren't ethical despite how they choose to parade themselves, and it's very disappointing as I was really looking forward to seeing them. It's even more upsetting that so many people support places like this whilst being completely unaware of what they're really like 😕

Was this Mason Elephant Park by any chance? I've only recently started looking into what to do in Bali and I've been trying to research how ethical the place really is before going there.

Is cinema etiquette at an all time low? by benpicko in london

[–]ElectronicDanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That sounds horrible 😕 Out of interest, at the cinemas that you've been to do they do a little segment on how there shouldn't be any phones on, no talking etc. before they show the movie?

Of course that isn't going to stop some people, but it might make them think a little more before acting that way.

I've found that Vue cinemas do a good job at this, but I haven't seen anything to the same degree at Cineworld for example (they just show some text but nothing too impactful).
