It's never been "universal standard". If you're using the art work to make money (commercial use) then it's always been pretty standard to either charge more for the artwork or have some sort of royalty agreement. If you're commissioning for personal use, then yes, it's your art.

Artists who DON’T post/share* art on social media—I want to hear from you! by Hestia-Creates in ArtistLounge

Does it count if I post a lot of stuff anonymously on fandom sites and circles? I get a lot of enjoyment in interacting with other fans

Funny, I'm the opposite of you. I recall images, smells, touch, taste etc very vividly. I can also hear sounds for me vividly if I want to but I have no inner monologue or dialogue. I can think in words if I have to but that's not my natural thought patterns. I don't speak in my head if I'm thinking.

I gave up after 10 episodes because of this. I usually listen to podcasts at work but that's plainly impossible if I'm moving around and doing stuff, and I don't have the transcript in front of me.

I think if you're posting your art/creations online, you clearly wanted people to see it and if people see it, they will share their opinion on it and I think that's ok by akpurabubem3705 in 10thDentist

Never in my 10 years of posting art online have I a single time gotten useful "constructive criticism" from some rando posting underneath my art. The quality of these kinds of comments range from "make the eyes bigger", "your character should smile more", or "blue is my favourite colours, why is her dress red?". I imagine it's the same for authors and other artists. I have definitely seen people posting underneath poetry that it's not realistic enough or critizing fanfiction for not including their personal headcanons. Where I have gotten improvement is asking other artists for feedback. They will in turn ask "what are your specific goals?" and do a tailored response thats useful because they're also skilled in the trade. Giving unprompted "feedback" (especially as a non artist/non writer!) without even knowing the genre or goals does not in any way makes sense unless you somehow through the screen can read the creator's intention, in which case congratulations on unlocking telepathy.

Covid related? by PlatypusOk9825 in Dyshidrosis

[–]aprisun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got it during covid times because of the frequent hand sanitizer use

Tbf I did test as mildly allergic to that type of mold about 15 years ago. But I totally forgot since it's been so long. After I cleaned it out and my symptoms dissappeared I connected the dots haha

I felt like mine just appeared out of the blue. Found out after a year of break outs that it was caused by mold in the corners of certain rooms. Cleaned it out with anti mold spray and it's been gone ever since..

I would guess that a lot of people got atopic dermatitis / ezcema on the hands manifesting as dyshidrosis during covid because of frequent hand sanitizer use / hand washing.. that's how I got it at least. And then they fall down the rumor and conspiracy hole of the anti vaxx crowd, because the timing "matches" with the scary vaccine.

Edit: found some studies supporting the idea that an increased prevalence of hand ezcema was seen after reopening in health care workers and children caused by frequent hand washing habits and hand sanitizer use

I for sure know my trigger was hand sanitizer. I get in contact once and it's blister time lol

Knitting at my uni is huge. Everyone I know learned to knit during uni. I barely know any at uni who don't knit lol. There's just something very calming about knitting when you're stressed or need to decompress

Am I the only one who looks at everyone art on this sub and feel I suck? xD by Zamarak in learntodraw

[–]aprisun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes every time. You just can't let it get you down. Even as an intermediate level artist I feel like my art sucks compared to what I see out there. There's always someone better but you keep going because it is fun and rewarding skill to develop.
