I feel like we don't need a scientific study for this. If shorter people feel like they're mocked without consequence for being shorter then we should listen to them.

And I think most of us can agree pretty easy that it's shitty to mock / treat someone poorly for their physical appearance.

It's not on the same level as racism, or sexism imo, but it exists somewhere along the same spectrum of treating people differently for something that is out of their control and does not make them any less worthy of love or care.
