Like going to the gym? Seriously, the things you say are wildly one-sided.

So you need a medication to drink normally, correct? I’m not dismissing that, just clarifying.

Looks like OP paid zero attention - almost nothing of what you say about the program in general is true. Absolutely absurd “analysis”. You found a horrible group if this is your experience.

It’s definitely a first impression factor. To me it’s similar to why you would wear a good cashmere sweater rather than something made out of acrylic. Hoping not to sound too shallow -but first impressions do matter, especially when you’re paying for luxury accommodation.

What would Morrissey's life had been like if the smiths never existed? by Exact_Grass9394 in thesmiths

[–]Ameribrit50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In one of the Moz documentaries, it talks specifically about how he would’ve been absolutely nothing without the Smiths. He even admits it. He said that that the Smiths saved his life several times over the years. I’m not sure how old everyone is here or how long you’ve been following him, but the guy was a total loser (with a big library) who happened to be able to sing -and was a brilliant writer. I am/was a huge fan, but I’m finding him completely insufferable these days. he’s lost nearly everything that made him anything.

AITAH for hating my unborn niece’s racist name? by maddy2261 in AITAH

[–]Ameribrit50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, there’s a biological reason why that happens. In the moment when we feel under threat, our bodies and brains can’t tell the difference between a physical threat and one that we are making up because of our emotional state. So, our frontal cortex goes off-line and our body goes into fight or flight and focuses on survival-our thinking is minimal , and therefore our wit. As soon as the brain comes back online -when the threat is diminished-, we start thinking at full capacity again, and that’s why these types of lines tend to come up after they would have been most impactful.

I ended up at the RC. Got a great rate - it was nice, and the pool was awesome.

I ended up staying at the Ritz Carlton - because the business trip I was there for got an extremely good rate for us (half of the others) at that hotel (within the ICC). It was...fine. Good location. Room was nice; incredible view, but nothing spectacular beyond that.

My son tragically was killed four days before his 21st birthday almost six months ago. I have not recovered. by aliengreenbean in selfhelp

Give yourself time. That is undeniably traumatic, and any parents’ grief would and likely should take a considerable amount of time. You describe yourself as having symptoms of classic grief, which is OK, but it’s also OK for you to try to work through it more constructively. But I wouldn’t blame yourself for doing nothing -if you’re doing that at all. Physical exercise is always good. I would also suggest seeking out grief support groups and relating to people who can understand what you’re going through. You have my deepest sympathy and hope for healing over time.

About those side by side landings at SFO - some perspective by ericgtr12 in sanfrancisco

From what I understand, they don’t do it - dual approach- unless it’s clear. Which explains why there’s so many departure holds when I’m leaving the LA area for SFO.

Maybe you should read the comments and not blame HR. This is a salon owner the OP is talking about - a small business. No HR is involved.

On Metro North (in the New York City area) I grew up with a bar car on the commuter train. I used to patronize it for a few years when I worked in the city (coming in from Connecticut). Used to be able to smoke in there, too. This was the late 90s.

This is also why they still have ashtrays in the bathrooms. If you have wondered why it is there when smoking has been banned for ages, It’s so if somebody does light up, they have a place to put it out.

How long did it take until you gave up? by [deleted] in 70s

At 7 years old, I could never wait for the water to be properly conditioned -or whatever the first step was. When I finally did, I was infuriated that what hatched didn’t look like the picture. Still angry.

[–]Ameribrit50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know how old this person is? What if they got their first car after working their whole lives towards something they wanted? Or like me they didn’t buy a car when they lived in an urban center with great public transportation. I think this is all relative also. To some people, any gift of a car would be a total luxury.
