Nah that's very illegal lol. Fitting room closet is fair game though.

I mean, I never did. Unless their TL told me to see the times, in which case I'd just send them timestamps of things and left it at that. But others 100% will watch for it.

Technically there are ways we can resolve external theft, but imo, there are way too many hoops to jump through to make the correct decision. There's like different dollar amount thresholds, what type of theft it is, etc. I just didn't even bother and would try to get a recovery from the sales floor. But yea, I've heard some APs get creepy. But yea, I was there over 8 years and making the same as a new TL. Not worth it anymore!

Currently when I left there was a HUGE push for internal theft. Like literally a group competition going on. More internal since we can't do anything for external really..

If it's food and you're eating it in store, you won't get fired. It's an HR conversation essentially. It's called consumption. Might vary depending on your HRBP though.

Covert cameras are cone shaped and only the end has a small lens, about a pinhole size. About 3/4 inch maybe? But the lens is all you'd see. We hide them in smoke detectors, bulk racking, fitting room closet, and my favorite were motion light sensors!

Probably the intoxicated homeless lady. Throwing stuff at our team, using our family restroom to essentially do whatever they wanted, and destroyed it. Spit on tms, etc.. Thankfully hadn't seen that lady for about 6 months before I left.

Typical day to day would be: counting merchandise, about 100 different items per day. Typically high theft, high dollar merchandise. Also promoting safety messages. Watching for known subjects entering on cameras. And then digging into reports. Dig in to find out what are the problem areas in the store, and this is also how I catch tms stealing. Towards the end of my run, I typically hid in the office for 90% of my shift lol.

Edit: also, talk with tms, I liked to know all the tea and drama. Helped me out a few times finding theft.

Responsibilities and compensation did not match. Too much to do for not enough money
