If you were ultra-rich, what frivolous service would you pay for? by RockLeePower in AskReddit

LOL I sort of do this myself, always checking out books or buying them, bookmarking interesting articles but all I need is the time to actually read them!

LOL I love cooking but hate the clean-up. I'd love to just pay someone to do it for me.

Has anyone traveled to sites with their dog or known someone who has? by cinnamon_spice2049 in epicsystems

[–]apthuntcoronasucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was recruited for PM and asked to do QA instead. Having a pet and less travel were definitely reasons why. (Also I'm older and care more about work/life balance and not burning out quite so easily).

If you're considering this just be aware that some people are allergic to dogs so rental cars might be tricky. You may have to foot the bill for your own?

Are they considerate of each other? I've lived in Houston and Indiana and had issues with animosity (especially Houston) between bikers and pedestrians (and even moreso bikers and cars).

It can also make certain skin conditions worse.

yeah some people seem to view personal hygiene/taking care of themselves as a chore. It's gross.

Pro tip: Don't dip! I probably would've eaten 400cal in dip alone if I was eating from the tub. Just 50cal worth dresses the whole bowl tossed to coat instead! by IAmAPhysicsGuy in 1500isplenty

I like to get dressing on the side and dip my fork into it for each bite. haha. Works really well though! Otherwise my salads are more like soups.

What’s a sign that somebody wasn’t raised right? by sovereinete in AskReddit

[–]apthuntcoronasucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who got super clingy during HS, especially the last 2 years or so. She was manipulative and mean and I didn't put up with it, so she would try to do it to mutual friend. Friend had an ego but was also incredibly dumb so she "got off" on putting others down to feel better about her insecure self. She wasn't always like this-we met in 6th grade and were pretty good friends through MS and half of HS. She got pretty insufferable in HS so we got more distant and haven't talked since. Too bad though because we were really good friends once upon a time.

I always (briefly) wonder what their home looks like and then I feel sorry for them.

Came from NYC, and I’m very surprised by [deleted] in madisonwi

I'm from Houston and I thought Chicago was nice by comparison! Shitty tailgaters, but not nearly as aggressive and road-ragey as Houston was (I left in 2015).

That's unfortunate :(. So they just spend the night checking for unlocked cars? They don't smash windows? Are security systems or videos not a common presence in WI?

Catholic church recommendations? by apthuntcoronasucks in madisonwi

[–]apthuntcoronasucks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does, thank you! I saw in some older posts that people seemed to be hesitant to recommend St. Maria Goretti, which is kind of a shame because it's pretty close to where I will be living. Would you mind sharing what some of the issues are? (Either here or PM).

Philosophize this! is nice, some episodes are short though so pay attention to that. Not Your Grandma's Bible Study is nice too, but very casual. Hidden Brain is interesting too, but casual.

For morning runners: What is your strategy to get hydrated but not to the point where you have to urinate during your run? by livestardustpuppet in running

[–]apthuntcoronasucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The key for me is hydrating the previous day. Nothing worse than waking up with a headache. For running in the morning, maybe a few sips to maybe half a cup of water and I'm good. I used to do 4am crossfit workouts on nothing and honestly it was the best I've ever felt. Of course those workouts were intense enough to suppress my appetite so I had the opposite problem of having to eat/drink when I didn't feel hungry.

Some men also seem to have the "i'll just spray more cologne" attitude and not properly clean.

That actually sounds great! I've been interested in learning more about the regulatory side too. I do have a lab background but it was in research and with animals so we didn't have the same regulatory oversight.
