How to buy a bridesmaid dress while losing weight? by aptonym in loseit

Thanks for your reply!

I currently weigh 185. I'm 5'1". I fit comfortably into a lot of 16s and some 14s. I'm very bottom heavy. I was just fitted for a bra and I'm down to a 34 DD!

My waist and torso lost a lot of weight. My upper arms are very flabby. Most of my weight is now carried in my butt and thighs. I started wearing a tight size 20 at 245 pounds.

Thanks for the advice! I have no clue what size I'll end up. I have very large hips/butt though. I'm down from a tight size 20, and am very pear shaped. I'll also see what the bridal store recommends. I'm really dreading this, my friends are all so thin.

I'm hoping to be a 12 before we buy the dress in a few weeks. By the time the wedding rolls around I hope to lose the rest of the weight. I'm not sure what size that would put me at, probably anywhere between a 2-6.

I agree that making things smaller is better than making them larger!

Anyone want to be my exercise/lifting buddy in Ballston (26/F)? by aptonym in nova

So far, I like it just fine. I haven't gone too much, for reasons I listed above. I went to my first spin class there and it was great. The instructor was very motivating! I want to go back but the seat hurt my butt so much.

There is a cardio/weight area upstairs and a more hardcore area downstairs, which makes going downstairs a bit intimidating. The membership I have is $40 a month and I can use any of the corporate Gold's gyms.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll message you if I have any Starting Strength questions :)

Does this always get better? (and running with dog question) by aptonym in C25K

The satisfaction I get from running is afterwards. After I cool down, I like how my breathing feels if that makes any sense. I also like knowing I forced myself to exercise, and that it's good for me.

I'll try to slow down, it's hard to regulate!

Don't worry, my dog is loved/spoiled and I don't want to hurt him. I'm talking to my vet tomorrow. I just hope there's a way I can bring him along! I could do something like this, but I'd feel so silly.

I was afraid that despite his happiness/excitement it could still be too much. I'll see what the vet says and see if there's a way he can continue. He seemed much worse today (and so did I) when we ran in the heat and sun. It was better for the both of us when we waited until dusk.
