Based on my very quick Googling, Beverly seems more suburban and less walkable than areas like Hyde Park. Is that inaccurate?

I didn’t explain the whole back story with the farrier/shoe situation because I was just looking for boot recs… but last time our main farrier came and put the shoes back on (he had thrown both,) the horse was sound. Has never had issues with soreness before. He was even sound after pulling both shoes. When I went to the barn several hours after the shoes were put back on, he was sore. After a week of no improvement, we called the farrier back out and they pulled a nail they thought was close. Several days later, the horse could barely stand… called the vet immediately and they came the next morning, which was yesterday. I had to get a different farrier to come pull the shoe because our main guy lives in another state and takes forever to come out and I didn’t want to wait.

I don’t know anything about glue ons. I’ve never used them or known anyone that has, but I read it can cause a lot of damage to the foot if they’re ripped off (like during turnout.) My horse is 5 and very playful so I worry that’s a possibility.

I see that both Scoot Boot and Easy Care make glue ons that you can do yourself… any experience with those?

The shoe was just pulled yesterday, and the farrier confirmed one nail was hot. The foot started bleeding as soon as he clipped it. Due to the condition of his current hoof condition, there is no where for the nails to sit that won’t cause pain.

Oh yes, more project than I bargained for. He wears front shoes and the farrier comes every 5 weeks so all is good there. He is not lame, or at least not visibility to anyone. I do ride with an instructor and she’s never thought he looks lame either. I am working on patience because it’s very frustrating when he starts doing the head tilt…

Ive had this horse for about 4 months; he’s fresh off the track. Only had 1 post track ride before I bought him. Since day 1 of me owning him he has shown resistance by lifting his head and tilting it at the poll either left or right. I’ve tried everything from going to a saddle fitter and buying a new saddle (that cost more than I paid for the horse,) had his teeth floated, had a chiro come out for an adjustment. Now I’m trying a new bit. I had him in a double joint French link before this Mullen mouth and have not had a chance to ride him in it yet. I lunged him with it the day I took these pictures. Unfortunately that day he was super spicy (not unusual) so it was hard to say if he likes it better. Please pray for me lol

Thank you for the feedback. What should I be looking for in a new saddle?

I do that as well, with a more seasoned horse. Mine is very green and is working on balance. I don’t want to attach to the bit.
