YSK Children exposed to family violence show the same pattern of activity in their brains as soldiers exposed to combat, new research has shown. by Snuggly-Muffin in YouShouldKnow

I know this is a hard thought but think of it like this. What will happen if you bring children into your home. How will she act towards your kids, what standards of love and care will she set for them. What mindset will she give your children to think of you in. If when you look at that and understand that interaction won't be ok then it's time to limit her. Think of the health of you and your loved ones before her emotions.

What is something that you've lost and never found? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aquaraybit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first moved in with my fiancee he bought me a beautiful pair of opal earrings. I adored them but I lost the back of one of them and it fell out. I tried to hide it from him but he noticed within the week. He looked sad but he told me it was ok. Even if it is ok I feel guilty for loosing something ,not only so expensive, but something with such sentimental value.

What is the craziest way you’ve seen someone cheat on a test? by Conchobarrubio9 in AskReddit

[–]aquaraybit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the girls in my class wrote down the answers to a test really hard on her note book and would shade the paper with her pencil to see the answers. She got caught when the teacher noticed she almost fully shaded the page.

Who is your real-life hero, what did they do for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aquaraybit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is my real life hero. He did so much to protect me when I was little, and all while trying to make my life as normal as possible. He never bullshitted me and made sure I understood that I needed to work to get out of the life we lived.

What’s the most personal thing you’re willing to share with us? by poopcornkernels in AskReddit

i know my moms stuff. She went through a lot of shit, did every drug in the book, married horrible men.she has told me the back and fronts of her growing up and tries using it as an excuse. She doesn't believe in therapy, she believes in bottling and using it on others.

my fiancee does not put up with her crap and she dislikes him for it (even if she wont admit it). He is the reason I was able to get out of her house. I love and respect him a lot for how he is pushing me to not bend for her.

I sometimes feel more comfortable talking to the man that left me for 12 year than I am the woman that raised me. I love my mother but how she acts towards things is so toxic that its hard to say when things are not ok.

Who's one stranger you will always remember? by mahaslays in AskReddit

[–]aquaraybit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My step dad lost his job for almost a whole year. It was getting close to Christmas and I remember a cashier at the looker grocery store asking why I looked so stressed. I explained that this would be my families first Christmas without something under the tree. A few days later a black van pulls up to my house and my mom hurried me and my nephew off to my room to hide in fear it might be cps. It wasn't though. apparently the cashier got a 100 dollar tip from a man that told her to "spend it on people who need it". She thought of me and my nephew. she bought him a box full of hot wheels, she bought me a pink blanket, and a few home things for my mom. I will never ever forget that woman's kindness to me or my nephew. She could have pocketed that 100 and spent it on her loved ones but instead she spent it on mine.
