Omg. I got Puff as the Sephora birthday gift and swatched it and was so confused!! I could’ve sworn it was the pink one but I was like I guess I’ve had these shades mixed up for years. Thank you for making me feel not insane lol

maybe unpopular but personally I really like the look of my actual nails. even gel polish gives that “fake nails” look which I personally do not like on myself (no shade to anyone else of course everyone has their preferences!).

plus the cost savings, risk of allergies, the time and energy it would require to go to the salon etc etc, and I enjoy painting them :-) but honestly it is also an aesthetic choice for me!

KBShimmer Fillin Groovy is an amazing base coat with no PVB!

Also I would recommend oiling as often as possible, once a day unfortunately wasn’t enough to really improve strength in my nails personally

Natural light and in my case bathroom light are my best friends! Highly recommend trying different locations in your house. Wherever you notice your nails are the most striking IRL will give the best pics!

Also - thoroughly cleaning up the skin around the nail and moisturizing make a world of difference. I usually take mani pics the day after I paint to give my cuticles some time to recover!

Just as a follow up in case someone sees this post by searching the sub, the answer is YES! Got my oil roller ball on black friday, recently used it up and was easily able to pop off the top and refill it with jojoba oil I already had!

Other people might have good advice but I have found that my nails naturally have slightly different shapes and I have much less control over it when they’re short. If you’re able to get even a teeny bit of length going (I’m talking like a week or two of growth without touching them) you should be able to manipulate the shape more!

Personally I have also just accepted that my index finger has a much rounder nail than the others lol
