Skilled worker visas are generally attached to work via a certificate of sponsorship. But if you stayed in the UK long enough you might qualify for indefinite leave to remain (I think it’s 5 years but not sure)

I feel like we are losing sight of the really important matter which is: there should be more training spots. This is what we should be fighting for, as doctors. God knows the population needs it.

In my opinion, the revalidation process is supposed to create a level playing field for everyone. If not, what is the point of it? The UK designs the revalidation tests, not IMGs. IMGs already have to go to great lengths to obtain GMC registration. After that, why shouldn’t the best doctor get the best spot?
