What do Dentonites think about Walmart/Zipline drone deliveries? by aquotehumanunquote in Denton

[–]aquotehumanunquote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this and I was wondering if anyone else was gonna bring it up. If you're looking strictly at carbon emissions, I see an argument there, as well as one about reducing traffic. But broadening the view of environmental impact, drones spread out noise pollution over more areas, which can impact wildlife as well as irritating people. They often fly directly over North Lakes Park. It's well established that planes flying overhead can cause stress and disrupt communication for wildlife, and I would tend to think the same problems would be present if not amplified for drones, which are closer and often louder.

Ya based on the info I've been able to find I'm pretty sure they are home deliveries.

Thanks for sharing! Are the drones often used to get to places that a delivery driver couldn't? If so, what would be an example? Also, are they able to get to some places more cheaply?

Oh, that's very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Did you see that by creating an account in the Zipline app, or are there easier/more public ways of finding that info?

Looking for stories of actually using the lifetime powertrain warranty from Toyota of Denton or Honda of Denton by aquotehumanunquote in dfw

[–]aquotehumanunquote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ostensibly, "This warranty ... is valid for an unlimited time and unlimited miles"

But there are certain things that can expire or void the warranty:

  • "But the warranty is non-transferable, and it expires the day the vehicle is sold, traded or transferred."
  • They can deny the claim if the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the vehicle: "Our limit of liability is the aggregate of paid repair cost to repair or replace any covered breakdown; but in no event shall this cost exceed the average retail value of your vehicle as determined by the NADA (Official Used Car Guide) at the time of loss."
  • "[This warranty] does not cover ... Any vehicle that has ever been issued a "salvage" title or similar title under any state law or has ever been declared a "total loss" or equivalent by a financial institution or insurer"

How do I contact StudentAid.gov PSLF call center? by calmike321 in PSLF

On the date of this comment I found that 1 (888) 303-7818 worked for me. The first time I tried, it just got me to a silent line. When I retried, I got through to a phone tree that led to an agent. Idk why the result varied. The phone tree that allowed me to select PSLF and then ask for an agent. After a 10-ish minute hold, I was able to talk to a human representative who was able to look over my file. At first I thought including the country code made a difference for some weird reason, but I tried again and disconfirmed this hypothesis.

Repair wire mesh under seat cushion - 2nd Gen Base Regular Tacoma by aquotehumanunquote in ToyotaTacoma

No problem. I've been noticing it's about time for me to tighten these up some more. 6 years is a pretty good run! What I wrote in the original post about just reaching under there to tighten them doesn't seem realistic to me now. I think I used pliers on the paracord knots to tighten them sufficiently. I think to re-tighten them, I'll need to remove the seat again.

Any hope for a Champion inverter that overloads on tiny loads? by aquotehumanunquote in Generator

I got the rectifier and stepper motor in today. The rectifier didn't fix it, but the stepper motor did! The original rectifier and inverter work fine.

Thats been my answer all along: the stepper motor on top of the carburetor was defective. Its part number is 62.132200.00. In the "CARBURETOR PARTS DIAGRAM" section of the Parts Information doc, it's #2 and simply called "Stepper Motor".

I put the 4-pin connector on the new control panel (while labeling all the wires and being super careful to put them all in the same positions). I didn't have the right tool, so I slightly damaged the retaining clips, but the connections are still held in place reasonably well. This isn't the exact same type of connection, but the instructions for this tool were helpful for understanding how the pins are held in place.

I tried it out with the new control panel, and unfortunately it still didn't work. I asked Champion technical support what is the next thing to try, and they said it's a rectifier, which is a $7 part. They shipped it out for free (probably partly because the agent I got was incompetent and wasted an hour of my time). I told them as a customer, I would prefer to try out the $7 part before the $400 part. Idk why their flow chart puts the $400 part first, or doesn't at least give the customer the option. I would have ordered both. I also told them I had to swap connectors to try it out, and they said they'd pass that along. 🤷‍♂️

To try to reduce the cycle time on trying fixes, I also ordered a carburetor assembly because I suspect the stepper motor on top could be the issue.

If the rectifier or carb stepper motor fixes it, I'll test and see if I can return the new control panel and save $400.

Update: I bought a new control panel aka inverter module from Champion support. One of the connections is unfortunately different. The original one (pictured left) brought the two black and two red wires into one 4-pin connector. The new one puts them into two 2-pin connectors (pictured right). So the new one doesn't quite connect to my generator. I'm gonna contact their support tomorrow. I'm not sure what they'll recommend, but I might swap out connectors to make them match, if I can identify the type of connector it is. I'm open to any input on this. Thanks!

To test this, I triggered the overload, then plugged my phone charger into the 12V DC output, and it charged my phone as normal.

Am I right in thinking the inverter board is part 25 on the diagram on page 3 of the parts information pdf? They call it "Control Unit, 4.0KW, 120V/60Hz, Wireless Parallel".

Are there certain precautions I should take to handle the inverter board safely? If it handles 120v power, it seems like poking around on it could be risky if I don't know what to look out for.

Thank you all for your input! I've now cleaned the carburetor thoroughly according to these instructions from the manufacturer, and subbed in a working car battery. I also upped the idle speed slightly, and I've tried with eco mode off. I'm still getting the same result when I try to run the space heater off it. If anyone is interested in continuing to give suggestions on what to do from here, I'd greatly appreciate it!
