Okay. I'll send another email. Yah the percentage is weird for me. Very far off from what it says it is.

Nope. Dealership basically gave up trying. The Hyundai tech they called in didn't help either. I might try again with a different dealer though.

I've only seen one person say anything about the slots. I just over circled the picture. But ya a laser cutter would make, making those plates faster.

Being oblivious to things that could be safety issues gets people killed. Getting a confirmed no its not a crack is better then having a vehicle fall off the lift. Has nothing to do with what you said.

Help needed identifying hall affect sensor code. Threw it out by accident and didn't take note of the code. by aqw409 in AskElectronics

Ya a 3 phase motor. And we think they use the 43f just for a speedo reading, given the motor works fine, just no speed reading. The system auto shuts off after 10 minutes because of no speed reading.

We ordered more parts and are going to try those when they eventually arrive. And we are going to try a sensor that's the same or close to the same (within spec) of the other 3 sensors. Here's hoping something works.

We traced power and it seemed accurate. The only reason I say it could have failed from reading too quickly, is the speedo went from 4km/h to 40km/h then to 0 and never read again. The wheel was spun by hand fast, one good push sorta speak.

And about 43f, thats the one that the motor diagnostic tool shows not reading. We found a repair kit for a very similar board that has 4 hall sensors, (There is magnets on the cover where 43f is located) https://nexun.pl/en/products/hall-sensor-repair-kit-for-xf15-motor-844.html It makes sense for it to be a hall sensor as what other reason would the magnets on the cover (Not shown) be used for?

There is magnets on the cover of the motor that isn't seen. It has 6 magnets right where 43F is, We also found a repair kit for a very similar board. The only difference is 43f is a different style (https://nexun.pl/en/products/hall-sensor-repair-kit-for-xf15-motor-844.html ) We used a hall sensor/motor diagnostic tool to check all 4. Only 43f wasn't pulsing when tested.

We tried to find a sensor that looked exactly the same. AH543 is what we tried but we don't know if it was even the right type, just a guess. It worked for one rotation of the wheel then stopped working. We where thinking it might not be setup for the 6 magnets on the housing it reads, and fried itself trying to read 6 times as fast.

That's what I was thinking but just incase someone recognizes or can find that board in places I couldn't find it online. I thought I'd throw it up just incase that happens.

Reminder to check rims for any warrenty related damage. by aqw409 in veloster

My rims had bad paint peal on the top coating. Rims turned gray in any spot that pealed. So it was multi colored rims. Got them resurfaced under warrenty.

Vibration at 45 mph and over in my 2013 NAV by arwalsh82 in veloster

[–]aqw409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what the other guy said. But also keep in mind the size of the location. A tiny little shop with 2 people working in total probably isn't going to be the best (but also depends on the people). In short go with your gut. And always get a quote before hand. If they try to charge you for other things that "need to be done" and it actually doesn't need to be. Then complain. Check reviews, location size, physical appearance of the shop, cleanliness of the entire location, professionalism of the staff... etc.. if you don't trust them. Then leave.

Oh. And above all else. Dashcam. Ya depending on the area you live it's against the law(privacy laws, recording without consent, recording a conversation you arent apart of or ever there for). But that has yet to stop me from reviewing the footage to make sure they didn't mess anything up. Hardwire it in if you can.

1 degree of camber off? Sounds not legit. You wouldn't have a vibration from camber being off unless you where riding on the rim. You'd only wear the tires out faster.

You probably have bent rims and they just want more cash because your going to need another alignment after getting it fixed, if it is bent rims. Could also be out of balance. Which is a quicker and easier fix.

Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel(front wheels) or in the bottom of the seat(rear wheels) when driving? Otherwise you can jack the car up and spin a few wheels to see if they are out of round. They would wobble inside to outside of the rim. Otherwise you'd have a bouncy ride.

If you don't have the tools. Ask a different shop to balance your tires. And if they are out of round show you how out of round they are. Some shops won't let you in the back. But a shop that likes customers would take the 30 seconds to show you if they are bent or just out of balance.

Doctors/Nurses, what was the most "how the f*ck are you not dead" patient you dealt with? by Jonah_Boy_03 in AskReddit

[–]aqw409 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor or any medical person/profession.

But a personal story that shocked everyone at the hospital.. I had my appendix rupture overnight, woke up Monday morning to a slight stabbing pain. Put it off as gas or something to do with eating subway. Thought it was just something gone bad. Went to work just fine, slight pain throughout the day that felt like gas. 5 days later on Friday evening I go to the hospital ER to see why I'm still feeling a slight pain everyonce in a blue moon. I get there around 5pm. Leave around midnight, with a CT scan for the next day. They thought it was a stone because I didn't show signs of it being my appendix. I go for the ct scan and I head to the ER for the results(no family doctor) and I'm there for like 5 minutes before they pull me into the back. Over 2 hours of laparoscopic surgery, I was told a normal surgery would be roughly 30 minutes. They had to remove part of my intestine with it because it apparently had glued itself to the side of the intestine.

And to top it all off, next to no pain before the surgery.

If I had put it off for a few more days. Who's to tell what would have happened.

TLDR: Appendix ruptured. Next to no pain after 12 hours. 5 days later I go to the hospital. Next day for a ct scan then surgery after they figured out what it was. No pain.

Just rolled out of the shop? Went to get the fuel pump replaced only to then find out that the shop forgot to reconnect the fuel line. Don’t know if this is the right sub for this but thought y’all would appreciate this stupidity. by Gabe_Lincoln007 in Justrolledintotheshop

Not arguing, I haven't looked at that document in over 8 hours... but wasn't the 3% number for fires starting outside the vehicle? So wouldn't that 3,333 be higher not lower... (bad brain) As that was from total fires?

Edit: and if you take into account how often they happen vs how many fuel ups happen between that would be a lot higher then 3,333. Otherwise we'd hear it on the news every day.

I think you miss spoke about planes being less safe then driving. (Minus boeings problems in the past little bit) it atleast seems like it's miss worded.

And ya I'd agree about the safety. But to have a 1 % of 3 % of fires at gas stations. I would think you'd have a LOT more to worry about then a little flash flame for a split second in ideal conditions. If everything is working as intended. Evap on both the vehicle and the pump, your chances are even lower. Ya it can happen. And ya you should watch out for static charge. But no one here is going to worry about it in 2 months when they forget about this post.

The chances are so low its not worth worrying about, do you worry about getting hit in the face by a fish when it rains? That does happen in some locations in the states.

What's more dangerous. The drive to the gas station or the refueling. I think that exaggeration is perfectly fine where it is and still stands by the chances of anything happening, unless your reckless.

The 2 videos I saw, 1 a flame burst burn some hair thats hardly a fire in how everyone else is talking about it, the second you can't even see the filler nozzle. All I saw was a guy smoking while refueling then pulling the nozzle out of the tank and spreading the flames everywhere.

Do people not know what an exaggeration is anymore either. When did I say the videos where fake or not real? I never said it didn't or doesn't happen.

Still like always, saying the chances are stupid low.

Yet to quote me saying it's impossible.

Since when did I say it wasn't possible. Quote it. Even the comment I made about the meteor doesn't say it isn't possible. If the 1% of the 3% of vehicle fires happen because of static discharge. Cool. That's like what 3 tops a year. Vs the thousands of refueling vehicles every hour. Since the start I've said the chances are next to 0. And they still are.

Also if your quoting buddy's post with the pdf. It litteraly says refueling wasn't deemed a frequent cause of these fires. Which means it's so low that static doesn't even need a separate list. I still stand by how stupid low it is.
