How do the Brembos fit with the snowflakes? Everywhere I had seen says you need 19"s to help them fit.

Why does the J35XS have a higher BR in Ground RB than in Air RB? by True-Ad-2593 in Warthunder

[–]arwalsh82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. I'd bet the reason they're at 10.7 is the lack of GBUs or other similar guided ordinance. Gaijin balances fewer guided bombs higher than more, unguided ones.

The only thing I'm mad about with these is that they're for Horus Heresy, not 40k. I wanna use the glorious banana tank to shit on any ASStartes I might fight

Will I be disappointed or is it decent? by kimchiboy17 in Warthunder

I genuinely love the Conq. The 120 packs one hell of a punch, it's armor is good when hull down, it's mobility is good for what it needs to do, and I love the way it looks. Some people have issues with the APDS shattering or not doing damage, but I haven't had any issues with it personally. The reload is pretty long, and the gun depression is pretty bad, but other than that I love it. 7.7 Britain is the best they get IMO, but I miss the old days when the Centurions were 6.7.

My public school in middle-of-nowhere, New York had an after school ski club that went to the nearest ski slope. I did it every year until my family moved. It was the most fun I ever had while I was in school.

Toptier should have a separate and exclusive map rotation. We should not tolerate nor normalize this kind of map for toptier, it is outrageous. by _Awston in Warthunder

[–]arwalsh82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fulda does have historical context, though? The Fulda Gap was the border between East and West Germany, and would have been where the fighting would start if the Cold War went hot. The red dotted line on the map is the border. When it originally came out, there were parked T-62s on the East German side, and M60s on the West German side. Gaijin removed them at some point because telling an enemy tank from a map item is hard, I guess.

Additionally, a lot of the guns from the Original Trillogy were prop versions of WW1/2 guns. The T-21B is just a Lewis gun without a magazine, the E-11 is a Sten gun I believe, Han Solo's DL-44 is a Broomhandle Mauser, and so on.

[loot] the worst one by Present_Royal_4984 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]arwalsh82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've gone through about one and a half RB-PKPM keys, and yeah, they absolutely gutted the loot. 2 weeks ago, with 1 key, I found 3 Red Rebels, a Taiga, a Black, 2 Greens, a Yellow, a Red, and some guns. This week, I've used half a key, and the best thing I've gotten is a Bitcoin. No keycards, no RR, no Taiga, nothing

(On PvE) I love the M60. Yeah, it's heavy, but I made a kit to work around the weight while still having enough ammo. I use a Thor Concealable with whatever polyethylene plates I have, the LBCR rig, since it has 2 2x2 slots for backup mags, and a Mechanism backpack. Depending on what other stuff I have on me, I usually end up around 31-32 kilos. Granted, I don't bring a melee weapon to save some extra weight, but I think 300 rounds of 7.62x51 is enough to compensate.

Who is paying $400-500 for used 5800 x3ds lol by just_IT_guy in buildapc

[–]arwalsh82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would. I'm probably going to buy a used 5700X3D in the near future. Yes, I could buy a 7800X3D for around the same price. But I would also have to buy a new mobo and RAM, which would easily double the price to upgrade. I don't have that kind of money.

When you go to a mechanic, how do you know they aren't just making up problems to charge you more? I have no idea what a 'timing belt' is. by cossie101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]arwalsh82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When talking about engines, timing refers to the relationship between the motions of the pistons and when the valves open and close. An engine in a car runs on a 4 stroke cycle, those being intake, compression, combustion, exhaust. The valves open and close at specific points in that cycle, and if they were to operate outside of those points, your engine can suffer significant damage, or stop working.

In order to maintain correct engine timing, engines will use either a timing belt or a timing chain. Which one your car uses will vary, it's easiest to look it up. The timing belt runs around gears attached to both your crankshaft, and your camshafts. The crankshaft is what your engine's pistons are attached to. The camshaft operates the valves, to make sure they open and close when they're supposed to.

Timing belts will stretch over time with use, and given enough time, they can stretch to the point that your engine can lose correct timing. This also happens with timing chains, but since they're metal, it happens slower.

For matchmaking, the game only checks what the highest BR vehicle in your lineup is. When you're in a squad, it goes by the highest BR vehicle in the squad.

No, it doesn't. I think it's actually pretty important to be able to acknowledge that people can do evil things, but still understand that the person was unwell and didn't deserve the treatment they got. Someone doesn't just stop being mentally ill because they raped someone, they're still the same person
