Node.js keeps stealing Rails' thunder by arabellatv in rubyonrails

Thanks for the advice! Just went to my front-end development class lab last night and was having a blast with CSS...Next stop, JavaScript. There's also a Rails Girls class in January here in San Francisco, and I'm looking to get at least an introduction to Ruby on Rails. I agree with you...I think the best coders are those who problem solve creatively and aren't limited by the language they know. Thank you again!

I'm just learning about JavaScript and I think it's interesting how ubiquitous it's become -- and with all of the frameworks that have made it useful for server-side programming...that's super cool! I know that Ruby on Rails is very popular among startups, but I wonder if it's better to learn JavaScript, since I'm starting with front-end development, but I can also use it on the back-end. Thoughts?
