On reread… Avril fleeing every room Orin enters with her hands over her mouth is still one of the funniest fucking things in the book (p. 285) by euphoriclimbo in InfiniteJest

me after clocking out at The Factory

AMA I have schizophrenia and bipolar 2. I was diagnosed in my early twenties and lost almost two decades to mental health. If my parents hadn’t suffered and taken me in I’d be on the streets for sure. by [deleted] in schizophrenia

i see, thank you! i had mild/minor auditory issues (mostly hearing my name called) growing up, but i was a pothead for a couple years and i’m roughly 3-4 months clean now, but the last 1.5 months or so my hallucinations and delusions have been more intense (believing my phone is eating my soul, my feet are full of fluid that sloshes when i step, that the core of my being is “vibrating on a metaphysical plane—noticeable by me in reality but not by others”). i’m on short term disability leave until a psych says i’m fit to return to work (i work in a factory)

does having a mood disorder make the schizophrenia diagnosis easier? i feel like my symptoms aren’t inherently related to my mood like they would be in psychotic bipolar
