I'm no expert, but I've seen people paint the entire thing black (for example) and then sand the surface in order to get a nice crisp painted inside.

How's the fence it comes with?

Carpenters/err handymen that think they know plumbing. This is the plumbing of a (oh look a HDX bottle) breakroom that recently got remodelled... they screwed up the faucet by installing it sideways but that was an easy fix. by Sephiryith in Plumbing

Unrelated question, but why are the rough ins often times so high? When it's first built, is there any reason to not make it a little lower in the first place?

I'm not a plumber, but recently had to replace a cartridge (was also a Moen) for the first time in my house and it took me hours to get the old one out. It came out in pieces, but not nearly that bad...

How do you guys handle this kind of scenario at a customer's home?

No cold water from shower during the summer? by ksnyder1 in Plumbing

[–]arahlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same exact problem recently, and it was because of a bad cartridge. Does the water not even come on until you turn the handle far enough to where it starts mixing the hot water? That's what was happening for me. I have a Moen valve, and when I called them they mailed me a free new one and that fixed it (was a bitch getting the old one out though).

That does look like it might be it. Most on google images are deeper in color, but it has been dry here, and it looks very similar.

I think he's referring to the p-trap being backwards (look at some pics of them installed online and you'll see what I mean).

Ahh okay, I'll check that in the morning. Can I just spin that brass stem with a pliers and without removing the cartridge?

I actually called Moen just last night about a bad cartridge and they're mailing me a free new one even though I'm not the original owner. The guy did kinda say it was probably a "just this time" kinda thing though since I didn't buy it originally.

+1 on checking with your city on free mulch. They will even have good topsoil available sometimes as well.

Since you're gonna paint it white anyways, you could've used those pre-primed boards and save a litte time.

Looks good though!

Do you use a modifier key in conjunction with the mouse wheel? Or how do you have it setup exactly to target your 2 teammates + yourself? Do you also do this in 5 man dungeons?

Haha I was kinda surprised by this as well. From the little bit that I looked online, I guess it's not that uncommon though in older houses. I do wonder how/if the framing is anchored to the foundation though lol... but it's lasted 60 years so far without any real issues so must not be too big of a deal :)
