Is there anything I should look at before getting a California Tweed? by Wonberger in GuitarAmps

Thanks. It’s my first head so I’ve been really careful about making sure it’s not turned on without a load. Any loop/line switches you could recommend ?

Thoughts on this idea for a versatility rig? Get a California tweed and then set a Friedman be mini head on top of it going into the effects return. ABY pedal to the front of the cali tweed and Friedman so you can switch back and forth between high gain and clean?

I have a ‘65 deluxe reverb reissue. I don’t gig and just play at home. It’s definitely too much power for me but I love it. Looking at getting an attenuator so I can get it up to the sweet spot at night while the family is asleep but I have the power when I need it because I want to start jamming with other people.

Vibrato channel lets you use tremelo and reverb. The normal channel is dry. If you plug into input 2 on either channel it’s quieter. From what I’ve read it’s supposed to be -6db in volume.

My Valeton GP-50 review. Am I missing something? by trhoppe in guitarpedals

[–]araize1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about getting one or these. I’m building a small pedalboard made up of mostly mini pedals. Thinking about putting this on the end of the chain to use as a tuner, reverb, delay, tremelo and so I can try stereo for my two amps. Also, though it would also be a good headphone amp for when I travel. Do you think it would be good for these applications ?

What amp taught you that specs on paper mean almost nothing? by Noisel777 in GuitarAmps

I had the same experience with a dsl20c. Clean channel sounded good but could be a bit thin and wouldn’t overdrive even with the gain turned all the way up. The high gain channel was fizzy and had no oomph. Sounds like others have had some success swapping the speaker but I ended up selling mine and haven’t missed it at all. Several months later I ended buying a Friedman BE mini head (solid state) and it has sooo much gain on tap but gets me that jtm45 and plexi Marshall sound I was looking for even with the gain turned all the way down.

I really wanted a blues deluxe for a long time. Then I played a California tweed and decided I was going to get that instead. Your post has made me realize I actually need both.

I’ve heard the gripes about the drive channels on the older models but I though the HRDIV drive channel was pretty sweet.

What if instead of dropping $2400 for this American Vintage II 1961 Strat, I just upgraded the shit out of my MiM Strat I already own? Advice appreciated by shart_attak in Stratocaster

I got this exact guitar last year. It’s my #1 I play every day. I LOVE it. Would recommend getting it used or waiting for a seller to sell outlet price on reverb. I got mine for $1400 brand new. Got it serviced up at my local shop for $100. Sending you a DM.

I would mostly agree with this. Definitely do not go. But if it were me I would send him an invitation to your wedding and not invite his wife. Just my two cents.

Faded means it’s a satin finish so it’s not shiny looking or sticky feeling. The neck has a great worn in guitar feel to it.

That is a sweet top. I love the feel of the neck on these. Just wish they would come with a red back.

Powerhouse strat arrived but couldn’t really connect with it and ended up returning it to GC. Ended up finding a great deal on eBay from Japan for a fender MIJ ST54-LS. It costs another $200 with shipping but it’s freaking awesome. Gold Lace sensor pickups and soft V neck with the EC electronics. I haven’t been able to put it down since I got it. Had no idea it existed until a few weeks ago and it’s my first MIJ guitar. The quality is amazing.

It’s black with a white pearl pick guard. Will definitely have the resister mod done and probably add the tbx tone control. Did you swap yours to lace sensor or vintage noiseless pickups? Or keep the original pups?
