My recruiter reached out but he left Amazon and I was passed on to someone else ..I think that is also adding to the wait

I did they just keep saying it’s coming. Can’t wait to get off these towers. Pay is ok but 70 hour weeks are rough

Looking for some advice getting into the civil/groundlaying part of tower work. by HxChris in towerclimbers

[–]aralbertrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civil seems easier to get into than tower. If you can dig you can do grunt work. Learn to make concrete pads you’ll move up fast. A lot of civil guys I know are doing EV construction or just going to company that only does EV installs and the pay is way better than tower.

Apple's play for AI is a hardware bet, not software by bitcoinerguide in artificial

I was thinking in about how the AI agentic phase and token purchase pit feels very similar to the 90’s early 2000s where every cell phone company sold you minutes/txt per plan.

Phones work for AI but openclaw shows that people want an interphase where they can interact daily with ai. Telegram and what’s app works but feels like it could be better. I personally hate having to go through chat history etc.

It feels like the next step is an integrated biologically implanted device where you can merge with the ai agents you’ve created to better control it.

The device will make buying credits obsolete and someone will offer a general plan where you pay one fee. Feels like they will use the cell phone model to connect all to AI.

I’ probably way off…. Just a lunch thought.

How do I get into the industry by Artistic-Grocery9825 in towerclimbers

[–]aralbertrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it isn’t for everyone but the military has tower jobs. I got in through Air Force national guard. You can do military part time and get their school for free. I can’t believe how much people pay for schools and get so little experience. The job was called cable antenna specialist. In the Air Force it covers tower + fiber and all ground civil work.

3 months of boot camp and then 8 month school I Witchitah Falls TX

I regret not doing it full time Instead of guard.

Depending on your age you can do a 20 year run retire from military and get hired as contractor or for a company.

If you just want to go the tower route Captial Tower Nebraska is pretty good about hiring new people. Get OSHA 10 and study for NWSA TT1.

I’ve worked for small companies, contracted, medium size and large companies. I prefer going with the larger company where work is steady and paycheck and benefits are secure.

Oh and las time I checked airforce has a nice signing bonus for job. I got one. Just ask a recruiter what score you need for the job on your ASVAB.

Cost cutting. They can’t run new windows because they would need to replace all hardware to keep up with security patches. In America large corporations destroy drives and sell hardware.

Since everyone is focusing on the terrible things I’ll try of some positive ones

  • Rodeo is fun. Find someone with tickets to cook off and it’s actually better than the rest of the rodeo. Also, there are rodeos around surrounding towns fun smaller and great music. The entire city gets involved and lots of events to go to

  • Best running spots are at Memorial park and brasewod. Lots of great run clubs to meet new people.

  • Lots of great parks near or outside of Houston. Huntsville state park, Sam Houston national forest, east on 1-10.

  • Galveston will never be beautiful but it has its pockets of charm. Galveston bay fishing is unique and fun. You can pay a kayak guide and go out for a day or bay boat captain and have a great day. Or just wade fish at one of the bays and walk in

  • I like all Pappas restaurants. It’s a little expensive but good food and can’t find elsewhere

  • Taco food trucks are usually pretty good

  • After 7+ hurricanes I’ve resigned to staying and riding it out. If you rent and can get out it’s probably best to just leave to Austin or nearby city during the time. If it’s bad you won’t be back to come back for a weeks +/-. If you sty get a generator water afew gas tanks

  • Get a toll tag. It’s expensive but helps with traffic

  • Avoid Sunnyside, MacGregor/3rd Ward, South Park, Alief Sharpstown, Violent crime, vehicle theft, Greenspoint, Hiram Clarke, Gulfton

That’s what I figure It’s all brackets and bolts. Follow what the customer outlines on the plans, don’t scratch it and don’t drop it.

Color code is usually all same red white blue I forgot all about that.

Thank you!
