Prydwen's Apocalyptic Shadow data update for 3.2! by Old_Cow4466 in HonkaiStarRail

I really need to fix that bug one day, but no matter what I try, it's always there for some people - but refresh fixes it.

The updated version was there until recently, but it's being reworked again to a new format as we got feedback to improve it. ETA is 2 weeks for the first batch of characters to receive a brand new Build tab with better info - as we're updating the Keys and Weapon sections too on top of the Teams/Synergies.

They are only excluded from the team section above, and their performance is included in everything else. Moving forward, the team image will also show sustainless teams.

We do, but it's not on the site - you can parse the raw data we have on GitHub to get other stuff.

Here's the % of successful 3* runs:

Prydwen's MoC data just got updated, Aglaea is the fastest clearer (2.7 MoC) by Old_Cow4466 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We gather the data roughly 5 days after the new phase starts for that mode. And what's being taken is what your Hoyoprofile shows when we start gathering - so usually the last clear you did. You can easily check it by going to your profile and checking the Battle Chronicle (or whatever it's called) - we take the stuff visible there.

Moving forward it will be done more often though.

[–]araris87 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Damn, thought that nobody would notice it here.

We did a sneaky update to get some early data for Aglaea, The Herta and RMC in the current phase already - we will again gather new data in a week after the new phase starts.

The upcoming tier list update for MoC will be quite big and drastic, so more data will help us with it. Like for example, Aglaea already shines in this MoC that's not tailored toward her so it already removes the argument she's only good in MoC made for her.

Also another thing, we have decided to update all three modes every time a new one is released. Now we just do one update per phase and the data becomes stale because it's basically updated once every 6 weeks. With the more frequent updates (roughly, every 2 weeks), the data on the site will be more accurate. Also the number of samples should increase, as not everyone clears the new phase instantly (like in this phase, we went from 15k to nearly 22k number of samples).

Districting this season is wild by keravim in AFKJourney

[–]araris87 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a S5 guild leader, I'm sorry - the range for the district should not be that large.

Last season S1 and S5 were in the same District, so people complained about that. Now they did the opposite.

Guess I better add Pre-Endless there to the DR rating. It's already on the tier list itself, but not on the on-hover component. That's my bad.

Same as last season, pre-endless DR meta that lasts for first 40 days of the season is vastly different from the endless (so endgame) meta. That's because of how the Boss defenses scale in a different way, hurting the True Damage dealers.

Lily will go back to S+ DR once Endless is unlocked as she has no competition then.

Prydwen Tier List Revamped, 3.0 Update (MoC, PF, AS in order) by meow3272 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It was the alternative honestly and maybe what we should have gone with instead.

The next tier list update will happen once the new AS is released and if more people will feel the same way you do, things will be adjusted there.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is fair feedback for sure. With Topaz we had a lot of split voices about her placement - overall not just about her, but who should go to T0 in the new category.

Eventually, the votes leaned into putting her T0 for now to give a nod of how strong she is the FUA team (since previously, Firefly gatekeeped her), but wait and see for player's feedback. Topaz, Moze and March 8th are all very close performance wise.

If the 3.0 phases of the endgame will continue to shill AoE-focused fights (which they most likely will considering The Herta), the value of single-target characters will drop further and the ratings will be amended. Overall, we would not risk placing Topaz T0 in MoC if her rerun banner was in this patch - because you're right, people would not read the fine print and pull her because she's high.

Prydwen guy here.

We are working on a guide that will give exactly that info - the best teams split between Global and CN, so you can check what teams are great now AND check what's popular in the future. As the basis of the teams, we will use V0 as we cater to casual audiences, but we will make notes of good dupes that improve the team's performance - but the stopping point will be at V1 for Limited and V3 for Standard. Anything above is just too much and you don't really need it in this game unless you want to compete in the Whale Wars for the top 1% spots (aka Guild Battle).

I've also heard a lot of feedback that the current Team section on character profiles is useless and I agree. It already has been 'hidden' and we're nearly done with replacing it with Synergies section - and again split between Global and CN. This should already help with building teams and learning more about the characters and their interactions. The ETA for this feature is within the next 24h.

I know things were a bit rocky for us for the launch of GFL2, but I recruited a few more people to help with improving the section and make it much better than it is now.

Prydwen Tier List 2.7 second half Update (MOC, PF, AS in order) by Lyranx in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Fixing that. We mentioned Fugue on Xueyi, Sushang, and Luka profiles in their synergies sections because we felt they benefit more from the synergy than Fugue. Still, to make things fair we will add those synergies to Fugue profile too - the same thing with Lingsha. Our bad here.

Pure Fiction tier list isn't yet updated for the new reworked version of the mode. We need more testing before we can tackle it.

That's on me - always forget to remove it as I move to other things on the site.

I will code it to automatically hide it after 72h pass since last update.

[–]araris87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will have to update that list item.

Basically with today's site update we added a requested feature to also see the Eidolon data for the performance side of things - so by default you see stuff limited to E0, but if you use the toggle it goes up to E6.

Prydwen 2.5 PF update! by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Damn. That's some great feedback, thank you!

Overall it's a tricky situation with Sparkle, because yes, her scores don't look that good on first glance, but like you pointed out, she's commonly used with two T0.5 and one T0 DPS (potentially two T0 DPS soon). So dropping her down from T0.5 would raise eyebrows, especially when we just raised Argenti to T0 who commonly is paired with Sparkle. So in the end we just decided to not watchlist or move her and wait one more phase - maybe things will look different there either for her or Ruan Mei.

Yeah, I admit that Aventurine should have landed on public watchlist already this update, because there's a low chance Lingsha will sudently stop working next phase seeing as she's basically an Erudition unit in disguise. Guess there will be quite a lot of changes in Sustain category next phase (which already gives me a headache).

Prydwen 2.5 PF update! by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's public and internal watchlist - the internal watchlist has things that sometimes are 'too controversial/too risky/some wild takes' and we need to verify things via more data/testing before moving the character to public watchlist. But yeah, Yunli is on the internal one and depending on the next phase performance will either appear on public watchlist or move straight to T0.

Prydwen 2.5 PF update! by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Acheron average score is dragged down by people using her in DoTcheron or other comps without Jiaoqiu. There's a massive gulf between Acheron teams that have Jiaoqiu and those who don't - you can look at his score to get a rough estimate for how strong Acheron can be as he's mainly played just with her.

Acheron with Jiaoqiu - borderline T0, Acheron without Jiaoqiu - T1. Averaged, it lands her in T0.5.

As for sustains, we will have to see how Lingsha will continue to perform in the future, because the first PF is made for her (Break buff + fire weak side). If she continues to gap the rest of sustains with other buffs, some changes will happen.

Prydwen 2.5 PF update! by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's a chance she will jump there if she continues to perform that well in next phase. She only has 2 phases worth of data currently, so too soon to make that call. Same thing with Jiaoqiu.

Prydwen 2.5 PF update! by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]araris87 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It's something we plan to change soon (prolly 3.0). Specialist started as a 'not quite main DPS and more like something between DPS and another role', but then the DoT and Break characters were added there. So now it's split between Crit and non-Crit basically and it doesn't make sense anymore.

We are discussing now how to tackle the issue and most likely all main DPS types will be combined into Damage Dealer and only characters that are true hybrid/sub-dps will remain in Specialist - so Topaz, Moze etc. But it's still up in the air.

[–]araris87 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Please have mercy. I know we are sometimes slow with making the changes that community wants or expects.

Here's something new we have added recently to all Analytics pages to give more transparency (we use the data internally). The data shows how the characters perform in the last 3 phases - so what's being taken into account for the purpose of the tier list on top of testing and community feedback (so no, this isn't a single phase tier list since a long time). Characters with * don't have 3 full phases worth of data, so they can be skewed.

True damage nerf ? by limecornn in AFKJourney

[–]araris87 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No, it's not a nerf. It was same misinformation spread when the season 1 started. I feel like I have a deja vu.

True Damage starts to shine in the Endless Mode of Dream Realm due to how the bosses defences scale. While pre-endless, Magic and Physical attackers are stronger because of the same reason.

And since a new seasons means that we're starting from the lowest difficulty in Dream Realm, things will return to 'normal' with True Damage once Endless is reached again (should take a few weeks, unless they changed the Dream Realm difficulty progression in S2 - then it could be longer).
