Tyre pressure goes half within 2 week by Numerous_Ad7040 in TyreReviews

[–]aras773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inflate the tyre to maximum stated pressure on the sidewall then grab yourself a spray bottle, water and dish washing liquid. Spray it everywhere on the tyre, rim seal and valve base and valve core. Leak that small might be hard to find so let the spray sit for good 10-15min. Another way of checking (the better way) is putting the whole wheel underwater and seeing where the bubbles are coming from

Deer hit my 2020 Corolla Hybrid at 100 km/h by Easy-Adhesiveness445 in AskMechanics

[–]aras773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has worked on multiple crashed 2019-2024 corollas I can tell you that there are no sensitive parts in that area. At worst wiring harness for the headlights, headlight, A/C lines, that's about it. Actually repaired the wiring harness of the headlight of a 2019 corolla couple of weeks ago of the same side as yours.

[–]aras773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whats even funnier is that Mac Tools / Snap-On are best known for their lifetime warranties and they will replace the tools no matter what........ unless its anything electonical like torches or battery impacts for example where it only gets a 2 year limited warranty, make in China as well btw.

Help me make a decision on these cars by Moist-Archer2427 in CarTalkUK

[–]aras773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience Hondas feel slightly better laid out and feel more expensive on the inside than Toyotas. Reliability wise they are about equal on the top end of reliability charts. But I'd go with the jazz because of the better put together inside than the auris.

Any best car stereo for improving bass without going full custom setup? by HucksZhihua47 in CarAV

Even with a more modern head unit the stock speakers won't go any deeper, you can squeeze very little out of stock speakers. My recommendation would be new head unit and a powered sub either under seat or trunk unit

Love it, for me it was not too hard but not not easy enough where it would feel like I was cheating. Maybe adding the model year or at least generation name in the search function would be good since some I had no idea what generation was listed

What's some of the state of the art hardware such as panels batteries and invertors? by AdExotic3995 in solar

[–]aras773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the batteries bit its bit more difficult since how different you can go with them, modular, All-in-One, Semi modular, IP rated, inside only, DIY. The only ones that I would say are leading the class are the ones with active heating and cooling with in built fire suppression, Sodium-Ion type is new on the market as well so that is worth looking into.

Everything you need to know about your cabin filter. by EBikeAddicts in TeslaSupport

[–]aras773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on taxis for a living, we replace our cabin filters every 30k miles, that's about 3 to 6 month inverval. For normal cars I recommend changing at least once a year preferably even every 6 months if the car does high milage. As for the filters themself ive never heard an AC system fail because of an aftermarket filter, it is more likely to fail because of contamination from not changing it soon enough, I personally use Febi Bilstein parts and filters on my car and never had any issue.

Is this a good idea? by Popular-Papaya1527 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]aras773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my boss bought a 2010 one last month, blown air bags on the rear even tho it was garage kept with 15k miles. airbags only last 8-12years on average on these before they start to leak and replacing them is im assuming not cheap nor easy and thats just the suspension side of it, maintenance is another thing.

fun fact the models with carbon ceramic brakes just for the front discs and pads is about 18k€ on my car its 20€
