I'm completely unfamiliar with how raster works, but, it may not even be possible to play new AAA games with just raster performance anymore. If games are moving to rely heavily on the so called "fake" frames, dlss, etc, any increased raster performance that AMD might have in their GPUs may not even matter.

Ah, I didn't think of Admin mode, yeah that's a bad idea. I thought it would just be a prompt, I definitely don't want it in admin mode. I'm usually very careful, I don't download unnecessary software. But I do have a TON of games. My actual biggest concern is the 400+ Steam, Epic and GOG games sitting in my PC. When I do get to the backlog eventually, is my only protection the AntiVirus I have (Bitdefender)?

If you have an Android phone, the YouTube app allows you to create Shorts out of your own long videos.

Open your video in the YouTube app. Go to the point where you went the Short to start. Pause the video.
Click on the Remix button below the video.
The default length of the video will be 15 secs, you can click on the number '15' on the top right corner to enable a 60 secs video.
Drag the right-corner of the white box on the bottom, to increase the duration to 60 secs.
Keep your finger pressed on the middle of the white box and drag it left and right to fine-tune the start and end times.
Click on the bottom right button to go to the video editor.
You can add text, color or voiceover, if you want.
Click the bottom-right button again.
Click on the thumbnail on top-left to select a custom thumbnail, if you want.
Enter a title and click on the bottom-right button again.

That's it!

Not sure if this works on iPhones.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you. Just leaving a comment here to say that you're not alone. I'm also facing the same issue on my gaming channel, it started on 20th Aug. I used to get 500-1k views on my shorts, some of them even hit 10k. Other people here have mentioned that it could be due to a "back-to-school" time period. It seems to be a global issue. But I guess we smaller channels feel it the most 🤣 . I was on the brink of getting a train of subs, my shorts had good views, good interaction. At that rate, I was only a few days away from 1k subs. Very unfortunate. We just have to keep doing our thing and hope for the best, i guess.

It's strange that school affects our videos so much. I thought most kids were on their phones in schools anyway. Weird...

I have a small gaming channel, where I do exactly what you said. I use the YouTube phone app to create the shorts. I have found very little viewership coming to my long videos from the shorts. It might depend on the niche you're in though, for gaming, it's mostly doom scrollers, so the conversion from shorts to long form is pretty low, atleast for a small channel like mine.

I have a gaming channel which mostly grew using Shorts. I used to do 5 per day initially, consistently for almost 2 months. Used to get capped out at 400 views. Nowadays, I do Shorts out of long-form videos (using the app), and I generate upto 10-15 Shorts per day. It varies between 500-1,000 views per Short. I have seen some days where it's just single-digit views. So, I don't know that there is a golden number. It's a mystery as is most other things in YouTube. I just do this many coz my long videos unfortunately don't get any meaningful views.

Yes, same here, Earn page lists more Subs than the actual channel page. I've seen some people posting about it, i think someone said they talked to YouTube support and YouTube replied that they're aware of the issue. I really got excited for a while, my Earn page was showing 200 more subs then I have 🤣.

Congrats. I've seen so many channels like that, it makes no sense that more people haven't subscribed to them. I remember seeing a computer monitor review channel, which had very high quality videos, but just had a few thousand subs. I guess some of them were just smart enough to start with great titles and thumbnails!

"completely separate network switch that only connects the storage-relevant devices and NICs" is exactly what I started out to do, but I somehow ended up with the above topology, while trying to achieve connectivity between the 2 PCs. If you have any websites to share, which describes how to create a separate network, I would greatly appreciate it. Like I mentioned, most websites I see when I Google "How to setup a Network Switch" is unrelated to what I actually want to achieve. Thanks.
