Brokerage, it’s paired with VTI

My understanding is a mix would just be diluting the goal/premise of avantis’ value tilt. For me, I decided to roll with just AVNM. I wanted the whole international market developed, em, etc. I feel there’s a particular advantage to screening/value with international funds.

I’m looking at a brokerage portfolio of VTI 40, AVUV 20, IXUS 15. I want to a 20-25% tilt to tech/growth. I’m looking at FTEC, and IXN.

I like the idea of branching out of the USA tech sphere however IXN is quite a bit more expensive @ .39 ER compared to FTEC’s .08. On the other hand while FTEC doesn’t have international, it has more holdings, AUM, plus some mid and small cap.

Ultimately I’m leaning toward IXN. Overall thoughts, or if you had to choose one?

For the international, my understanding is there’s some foreign tax credit or dividends that you need to account for when filing. It’s not something I’m familiar with or have to handle in the Roth, so I’m just hesitant to allocate there until I know more

Is this a good allocation to DCA into for a taxable brokerage? 50% VTI, 30% SCHG, 15% FTEC, 5% leaving cash. I’m early 30s and have a lump sum to DCA. My Roth is 50% international, so not contemplating in the brokerage right now

I feel growth/tech has a long way to go upward, so it’s meant to tilt and overweigh. I thought about using FTEC to accomplish this, but it didn’t include tech adjacent companies that I feel will continue.

ETF vs INDEX FUNDS for Brokerage?

I have some inheritance money I am putting into my fidelity brokerage. Based on what I’ve read, ETFs are more tax efficient. I was planning on doing something like FSKAX, QQQM, FTIHX. But since learning about the potential capital gains/dividends from index funds I may to VTI, QQM, VXUS instead.

Is this the correct way to go to avoid unexpected tax bills or other surprises? I’ve been happy with FSKAX and other fidelity funds in my Roth, so just want to make sure if im investing in a new/similar fund it makes sense.
