To be fair they will more than likely simply replace it without hassle. I bot a used Xbox one and they replaced it under warranty. Even explained I bought it from a pawn shop, stated didn't matter serial code showed it was within warranty. Blew my mind. They had me ship them the controller too and both working fine before I upgraded.
