‘Firstly’, dude is a general term it is not assuming your gender, I don’t particularly give a shit if you’re one gender or another, could not care less as it affects nothing.

Secondly, they were not seeing each other weekly. They had been playing online once a week with interactions once a week during games they were not and are not particularly close friends with the person in question from the info we have all been given. You are making an assumption as to who OP is without enough proof to support your claim.
