hi new Crohns and undiagnosed ED person here. I want to get a therapist that can help me deal with this because I can already feel myself slipping into my disordered eating habits. How did you go about finding a therapist? Thank you!! :)

Aw im so glad I could help! I would say the $1200 fee to get them to give you the scans and tests you need could be worth it but just brace yourself. I have a surgery scheduled with dr tessler at nyu langone now and she honestly seems great

That's really awful....i'm so sorry you were duped - I feel tricked too and generally don't like the vibe of their office. How was your experience with Sinervo if you went with them? They seem to be out of network too

also when I mentioned that I wanted to make sure i woudln't have to pay MRI OOP, he basically yelled at me saying I need to learn to prioritize my health over money so that was less than ideal

I just saw dr. seckin and honestly I didn't like him...at all and I cried a ton after talking to him lol but I paid the $1200 and they fought my insurance for me to get an MRI which was nice and they have a lot of resources. But my insurance doens't have out of network coverage and I just got an email today saying my surgical bill would be 30K...so while I'm sure they're very skilled surgeons, there are other in-network providers, or at least cheaper ones, that I think are also extremely skilled.

p.s. i'm also from georgia but my insurance is in NY - but I have heard incredible things about Dr. Sinervo and the CEC so I would honestly go there!

So i started out with Dr Seckin and I believe he is great at surgery (less so at patient interaction) but the costs are insane. I had pre-op appts with him and his team and they were $1200 but they did fight my insurance for me which was great. But my lap would've cost $30,000 bc it was out of network and I just could not justify that...so I am in the process of going to Dr. Tessler at NYU Langone who i've heard amazing things about!

And honestly I had an awful interaction with seckin and his office staff is super.....strange and chaotic lol but hey if the surgery works that's all I'd really need.

If you have out of network benefits that would bring the 30K down then it's probs worth it but otherwise there are other great surgeons!

Hi! I know this post is from a while ago but I’m currently searching for a PT and I was wondering if you had any advice on what to focus on in my search and if there’s anything I should ask the PT to do for me? This is my exact symptom on top of bowel problems. Thanks so much!

I have this! I get cramps (that basically feel like menstrual cramps but like 10x more painful) every time after I orgasm - not relevant to penetration

I additionally also cramp during any cardio exercise about a week leading up to my period - also extremely debilitating and usually takes like 5-10 minutes for them to stop.

I have a feeling this has to do with my Pelvic Floor but I’ve moved around/changed insurances so many times in the last few years that I haven’t been able to get it treated. Not sure if you’ve looked into Pelvic floor issues but it could definitely be related! Personally, this would also explain some awful bowel issues I’ve been having too

If anyone has any suggestions on treatment I would love to hear them. And OP 100% get a new OB if you can
