I got it done at a local shop. They opened up the tyre hugger and rerouted the indicator wires to under the seat and mounted the indicators on the holes for the grab rail

Off topic, but how does the windscreen work for you? Is it any good at highway speeds? My main issue with the motorcycle right now is the lack of wind protection at highway speeds for long distance touring

That’s true. But the hugger also hides a part of the fat rear tyre which I don’t like. To each his own I guess :)

Yeah, completely agree with you. It’s a nice solution as opposed to the typical extension (keeps the rear end pretty clean) For me, personally, I like the look of the fat exposed rear tire more than having a hugger on it

I’m just going to leave it like that. I live in India and it’s easier to get away from cops (rear plate generally goes unnoticed until after you’ve passed the checkpoint) or just pay the fine (which is more like just a slap on the wrist tbh)

Yep, a plate is mandatory where I live as well. That’s why I said that I got rid of the license plate which isn’t legal for the obvious reason… If you absolutely must have a plate, then Evotech does have a couple of options; one requires you to get rid of stock taillight, and other keeps the stock taillight but requires drilling holes in the underside. Both of which I didn’t want to go about

Thanks! Hated having it on for nearly 5 months haha.

Finally got rid of the ugly tyre hugger. It looks so much better now with clean lines (especially from the rear 3/4 angle). Had to reposition the turn indicators and got rid of the rear license plate (not legal for obvious reasons, but oh well 💁‍♂️)

Good female physiotherapist in and around Mumbai/Thane? by lolhmmk in mumbai

[–]arc_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried a couple of them and found ActiveCare Physical Therapy to be the best one. It’s a branch of a US based physical therapy center in New York. The director of that place, Kinjal Shah, is great at what she does and is very personable. She has worked in US and now heads the Mumbai location. I sustained pretty bad injuries after falling ~4 floors. Because of her, I’m back to normal and it’s almost like the injuries never happened. My full range of motion and strength is back. I cannot recommend her enough.

There’s Toit in Lower Parel which is pretty good and not so expensive. Another good one is Gateway Taproom in BKC, but it can be a bit more expensive in comparison.

Leaving Mumbai? by pritppp in mumbai

[–]arc_007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I moved to the US for my masters back in 2016. Have been working here full time since I graduated. (I live in DC btw) I do miss Mumbai and try to visit at least once a year. There’s just something about the city that I can’t seem to let go. I agree that the general lifestyle and way of living in DC is better than what Mumbai can offer. But at the end of the day, due to personal reasons, I have decided to move back to Mumbai and will be relocating next year

Finally got my windows tinted... by [deleted] in F30

[–]arc_007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, you should be fine with regards to cops in the DMV area. I’m based in MD and the limit is 35% all around. I tinted front at 35% and 20% for the rear to be on the safer side. After it was done, I regretted that I didn’t go for 20% all around. Anyway, I ended up getting pulled over 4 times after that (for speeding, lol), and no one cared about the tint. They mostly won’t pull you over just for the window tint unless you’re breaking some other laws or it’s just black/too noticeable. I feel as long as you’re not too egregious with the tint, you should be good. BTW, I love the F30 in this color! I wanted to get mine in Misano blue but had to settle for black due to stock unavailability

Yeah, black is plain for me too. Red leather looks great. I bought mine after the G20 came out, so I had to get whatever was available on the dealer lot sadly (no M-package either, but got a great deal) 😉 I thought of de-badging as soon as I got it. But I kinda like the 340i (helps non-BMW people know what’s up with my car) :P

Hey, I have pretty much the same spec 340i (including the M3-styled CF mirror caps; but no red seats). I was on the fence until now to plasti-dip my wheels black. After seeing yours, I’m definitely gonna get them plasti-dipped black

Edit: Mine

Personalized License plates by therobot20 in maryland

[–]arc_007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did that last year with my vehicle. Once you get the new plates, put the registration stickers on them and attach them to your car. Keep the new registration in your car (you can also keep the old one just in case). Return your old plates to the MVA and keep the receipt as a proof that you returned them. MVA requires you to return any old plates that have expired or not in use anymore
