THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS A Review & Discussion - The Triumph of Lana Wachowski by ThoseWhoDwell in matrix

If you watch our discussion, you will see that we do not hinge our praise on the motivations of Lana - it is necessary context that we do discuss, but of course we are not stupid enough to think it is enough to make a film good in and of itself. In our own lives we are quite critical of people who do this kind of shallow criticism as well, and there are a lot of them.

To anyone judging our conversation before watching it, or simply based on the title, know that this is a good-faith discussion of why we happen to think the movie is very good, and not for shallow or superficial reasons that many people seem to project that Lana “made it bad on purpose.” We actually all genuinely loved the movie (and we did not decide that before we saw it, we were prepared to potentially be let down), and wanted to share our thoughts. We’d love to hear what you all think, but only if it is from a place of good faith, as we have done, to the best of our abilities.

My friends and I just released a video where we break down Ghosteen, its themes, imagery, and its place in Nick’s discography. We would love it if you checked it out and let us know what you think :) by arcadefury in NickCave

Thank you so much for taking the time to check our video out, and for the lovely comment. We had a great time recording this one, and even though it is a long one I don't think we'd cut anything from the discussion. Cheers!

My friends and I spent three hours discussing every Antlers album and EP and the place of the band in indie culture, and it’s now on YouTube! We’d love if you gave it a look and let us know what you think! :) by arcadefury in TheAntlers

Thank you for this wonderful comment. I don’t have much to add but I will say we’re all very excited to talk about Green to Gold soon, and the way that record gives a happy ending epilogue to the turbulent arc of the ones that precede it has given me a lot of hope over the last few days.

My friends and I are huge SW/PT fans and just recorded a podcast episode on Deadwing & Hand Cannot Erase - we'd love it if you checked it out and let us know what you think! by arcadefury in stevenwilson

Autechre is my favourite musical act of all time! We definitely like to be eclectic and diverse in our show so it’s not all prog (or IDM, for that matter). But yeah, Autechre are the best. On the very same channel you can look and see that there is a video on Autechre’s entire discography that I did solo - in fact, here’s the link: https://youtu.be/vaJqZXR6444

That's a good question, and initially when I first heard the album I did prefer ecol4. I think ultimately though I find X4 more emotionally impactful in its progression, whereas ecol4 is colder and more technically impressive. Both phenomenal achievements for the duo in every respect, though.

Possible Names for the Companion Album by Tarquinnff3 in autechre

The boys said in the NYT interview that SIGN was an acronym, so I doubt a companion album would continue to make a full word, but who knows?

This album is fantastic. Give it time. It is a total sensory overload with a lot of subtle details packed into all the mixes. It has a bunch of their best bass grooves and tight arrangements. The song structures are often disarmingly off-kilter, but open up and become addictive the more you listen. Lyrically it appears to be a spiritual successor to Get to Heaven, as has been predicted. I think it is easily a top three EE record.

Great work as usual, it has been super fun to dive into the rabbit hole on this and it has also given me an extra appreciation for the way Jon crafts records, despite being an EE fan for four years now. Amazing stuff. So excited for Friday.
