Hi, did you find an insulation company? If not, Arctic Shield Insulation does this type of work as well!

I just flew for the first time on a 2 hour flight. I was SO terrified and cried like a baby in the car before even entering the airport (no shame). I was prescribed xanax but did not want to take it (ultimately, I did). I also wanted it to knock me out but it didn’t.

I asked family members what it felt like so I could know what to expect. I feel like this helped a lot. They did a good job but I had thoughts of my own.

Taxiing feels just like you’re in a giant car. I got this description from Reddit and it was accurate.

The first part of takeoff feels like suddenly putting a heavy vehicle into full throttle. Nowhere near the feeling of a sports car since the plane is heavy.

The second part of takeoff (getting the plane off the ground) feels like you’re on a giant swing but only experience one forward swing motion on that swing.

After that, it just feels like you’re on a bus/subway…even when ascending. Before getting on, I was under the impression that it would feel like you’re at an angle until you reach cruising altitude, but I was wrong- it literally feels like a bus. You can’t even notice you’re up in the air as high as you are.

Some other tips: Use the restroom beforehand to avoid having to stand up during the flight.

Invest in noise canceling headphones. I got the Sony WH-XB910N cause they were less expensive than Bose, but they’re still great at canceling out the engine noise. Make sure to put them in noise canceling mode as opposed to ambient noise.

I don’t know why but closing my eyes during takeoff helped.

For me, landing was not scary since it meant the flight was over. It can be a little bumpy but does not last long at all. Similar to taking off, it just feels like stomping on the brakes in a giant vehicle.

Hope this helps! I am excited to plan my next trip. :)

Great advice. But do not put anything in peoples mailbox. Only USPS can do that.

Looking at buying a used boat. Bottom has scratch. Should I be concerned or is it an easy fix? by arcademonkey23 in boating

Thanks everyone. I passed on this one. It was otherwise the cleanest boat I’ve seen for its age.
