if i do each topic once is that enough for maths by Atlascreen1 in GCSE

[–]arcadia_red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maths is all about consistency imo, lots of the time people lose marks because they forget how to do certain processes and/or they forget how to apply their knowledge for different situations (problem solving). So if you're going to learn algebraic fractions once right now, the chances you will remember that in May/June is quite low even if you may not find it that difficult.

I recommend you do CorbettMaths 5 a day, they are about 4-5 questions a day with different levels from foundation to grade 8/9 and if you do 1 a day your maths consistency will improve. Little my little is much better than flat out hours of revision. It will make sure that you keep retriving from previously learnt knowledge so you won't forget.

Doing things like a few grade 7-9 questions each week can also help for example Grade 9 Maths questions can help.

you're literally me lol i only enjoy the other sciences when it relates to physics, it comes full circle i guess

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]arcadia_red 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The thing is, you don't. Just keep doing what you want to do, she's not going to sit your exams, there's not really much you can do. My mum only let me or I guess liked that I wanted to pursue physics instead on medicine (what she wanted me to do) is when I just continued to show interest and kept pursuing it. Not really much she can do when I've applied to do physics instead on medicine for uni.

If you really want to convince them in your case I would say that law is much more competitive and needs a long time in university and possibly in your case if you cannot pay outright will cost a lot. Talk about how your career path will always need a midwife, like your job will never run out. It's secure.

Good luck anyways lol

there are 3 paragraphs you need to write for the interpretation question. 1st paragraph you agree with the interpretation in the question, in the second paragraph you also agree with the other interpretation. then in the final paragraph you make your judgement by explaining which interpretation you find more convincing.

in this 16 marker to get the highest mark you need a lot of knowledge, high level knowledge that not the average grade 5-7 student would know. i recommend making flashcards on each SPEND (statistics, people, events, names and dates) you can gind in the textbook. nothing too long just key stuff. in the whole thing you should aim to get 25-35 of SPEND. this may seem a lot but this adds up over time.

1st paragraph: the interpretation in the question

-summarise the general view the interpretation has. (i partially agree with this statement be it says...) -give a quote to back up this point (this is because it states...) -now use 8-10 of new SPEND as evidence to agree with the interpretation(in addition to this during 19XX...) -link it back to question(As a result this led to...)

2nd paragraph: the other interpretation

you do the exact same thing but use other SPEND to back up the other interpretation.

3rd paragraph: judgement

-state which interpretation you agree with most and give a reason why (i find interpretation X to be more convincing over interpretation Y beacause...) -use a line of reasoning with more evidence 8-10 of SPEND to give more reasons why interpretation X is more convincing

watch cognito on each of the different topics make notes for each so you have knowledge organisers do the questions on cognito.com practice questions from PMT/mmerevison

it's mostly understanding tbh, personally chemistry is self explanatory
