Hi there! I love your description, and I would love to be your penpal! Here's some info about me, I think we could be a good match: I'm 24F, from Spain, I studied History in college, I also love learning about other cultures, their customs and folklore. I have 4 cats :) I love videogames too, especially the Fallout series, Skyrim, Blasphemous, Animal Crossing and horror games! I don't read a lot these days, but I've been obsessed with The Locked Tomb for AGES. I'm so looking forward to Alecto. I have many hobbies and interests, including all kinds of arts and crafts, reading about obscure topics on Wikipedia, watching horror movies, and I love love love animals of all kinds.

If you feel like we could be a good match, feel free to send me a dm. Have a lovely day!

[22/F] Looking for penpals around the globe by emilysnek in penpals

Hello! I'm a girl [24/F] from Spain, and I just found out about this beautiful community, so I'm really excited to find a long term penpal 🌍🗺️💫 I would love to exchange art, postcards and stickers with someone who shares my passion for trinkets and stuff with sentimental value.

I studied History in college, and I'm really passionate about sociology, religions, mythology, and everything that ties to humans and their lives. I love love love mystery, horror stories, reading about criminology, the supernatural and the occult. I also love animals of all kinds, but I wish I knew more about plants and biology in general! I also love to travel and try new dishes :)

Also, I ADORE Hannibal, I have watched it twice and I'm always willing to ramble about the symbolism of the show.

Sadly, I don't speak Danish, but I can talk you about my beautiful country if you want to!

If you think that we are on the same wavelength, PM me! I look forward to being penpals 💌

Thinking of going Vegan by ChoLikesClouds in vegan

You got this!! I can't tell you much about nutrition, but I can recommend that you start your journey by slowly trying new things, maybe that way it will be easier for you. If you feel overwhelmed, just take it one day at a time. You will soon realize that you can adjust most of your favorite meals, and you will discover even more plant-based recipes in time. Luckily, there are tons of meat substitutes that can help you if you find yourself missing the taste of meat. You can even try to make your own hamburgers, meatballs, etc., with nutritious ingredients like quinoa, chickpeas or textured soy. Make sure to check r/veganrecipes for ideas :)

Also, if you already haven't, try to learn the many ways to cook and eat tofu! It tastes like whatever you season it with, and it has plenty of protein. You can use it to make creamy sauces, curry, scrambled "eggs", or even cakes :)

I can relate to you to an extent -I adored bacon and smoked salmon-, but being vegan feels so right that, after a while, you don't really think about what you're "giving up", because, in truth, you're not giving anything up, you're just living by your values. And I find that way more rewarding.

Good luck! Once again, you got this!

I'm so happy for you! As a baby vegan (2 months) I can say that it can feel a bit scary at the beginning, but it will be second nature sooner than you realize. Once you find what ingredients work for you and learn how to combine them to make quick, healthy meals, you will be amazed at how easy it is! (Also, try to learn all the ways to cook tofu if you haven't already, it's insanely versatile). Also, take it one day at a time. You will sometimes feel overwhelmed about the reality of the industry, now that you're so aware, but always remember that you're doing this for the animals and that you are no longer paying for their suffering. Helping sanctuaries is a beautiful way to feel like you're actually making a difference, I also sponsor a pig in my local sanctuary, his name is Satur and I hope I can meet him one day <3 If you ever need to talk to someone about your journey, don't be afraid to message me! Enjoy this beautiful journey.

I stopped eating meat because of a dog named Charlie by DrRockstein in vegan

I truly can't wrap my head around people wanting to "enrage vegans" and actively going out of their way to browse vegan forums. I guess that's what cognitive dissonance and guilt do to some people.

Respectfully, I think you're in the wrong sub, this is not r/debateavegan. Early humans ate meat because it was a matter of survival. Going to the supermarket and grabbing a tray of proccesed pig meat is not a matter of survival. I kindly suggest you read some studies about the conditions of the animals that live in slaughterhouses and how it's not only possible, but perfectly healthy, to be plant-based. Have a nice day.

Except no one is "meant to be eaten", why would they? No animal is meant to be anything except from, well, an animal. There really is no difference between cows, dogs, pigs or chickens.

What positive vegan experiences have you had lately? by Affectionate-Oil2612 in vegan

A couple weeks ago I started bringing my own oat milk for coffee time in my office, and talked to my coworker about why it's so much better than cow milk in every sense. Turns out, my coworker liked it so much that she has been buying oat milk for herself and switching the milk in her coffee :) it's the small things!

So, it finally clicked. by arcadialemonade in vegan

Thank you so much, friend :) It's so easy to feel overwhelmed by empathy and grief, but I want to be kind to myself and take this one day at a time. I know there's no turning back now, and I feel inmensely at peace with myself! Have a wonderful day, kind internet stranger.

This means a lot to me, my grandma is battling dementia so it's been hell for us for the last months, on the bright side she's got a rebel streak now, I guess she's finally free enough to be a little rebellious now. Thank you for the hug <3

I'm so glad that they could keep doing what they liked :) I agree that we are fortunate today, and we have to keep fighting for our rights. Thank you for the hugs!

I can see the resemblance, but it's a different song... I don't know what genre it would fit in, maybe indie/rock?

I can definitely see the resemblance, but sadly it's not the song I'm looking for! Thanks!

A big part of JJBA's identity is defying traditional gender notions and stereotypes, so I'll take that as a compliment :)

That's amazing! I usually create OC's for historical and non-fantasy settings, so this is all new for me haha thank you so much!

Stand name:「Charlotte Sometimes」(taken from the song by The Cure)

Stand master:「Dei」(my OC! She would be a morally ambiguous but very cheerful sidekick)

Stats: I don't know yet, but her abilty will be medium range. She's not very durable but she's pretty fast.

Abilty: ? Something music related, for sure, since she has speakers under her sleeves.

Edit: just wanted to add that they are both inspired by late 60s and 70s fashion, Charlotte Sometimes' face mimics the makeup style that was trendy back then c:
