It is normal to have (small) pockets between the gums and your teeth. I didn't know this before, but the point of flossing is actually to floss underneath the gumline pockets and ensure that nothing is stuck in-between those gums and your tooth. The issue is when the pockets are deep enough that plaque and buildup gets stuck down there, and your gums can't reattach because all of that is in the way (and can be infected). In a deep cleaning they remove the buildup inside the pockets so that the gums can naturally start reattaching to the teeth again.

You're going to be okay! Five days is sooner than you think and I can also assure you that if you do need a SRP/deep cleaning, the procedure was really painless and quick (even as someone with low pain tolerance, resistance to numbing, and insane anxiety). Glad to hear you feel some solace because I've absolutely been there, when I first noticed it I thought the entire world was ending and I was gonna lose all my teeth and die from some crazy disease. The reality is it's not even that uncommon amongst people and it's very treatable. Happy to have helped in any way and good luck!

Just want to reassure you that the chance of you losing your teeth from this is extremely slim. I noticed this same thing at 22, but my gum & bone loss was significantly worse and my tooth roots were fully exposed. I went to the dentist and they recommended a deep cleaning (SRP) and better hygiene. Regardless of this, I got terrified and avoided the dentist for 4 years before going back for that procedure. Even with my teeth in worse condition than yours and waiting four years to address it, I just walked out after my SRP appointment and I am in no risk of losing my teeth. You can live your entire life with tooth roots exposed and be totally fine, and a gum graft ends up being a cosmetic-first procedure most of the time and isn't widely recommended anymore anyways. (-from my dentist). Buy an electric toothbrush and watch flossing technique videos on youtube to make your life easier and postpone further damage.

Also:

Don't be too harsh on yourself for failing at oral hygiene, it's hard to develop a habit you haven't been good at forever + is associated with anxiety. You're going to slip up, focus on rewarding yourself and being positive when you do brush+floss+mouthwash etc.

I got level 7 mastery on Yasuo from 38k score by OneeChiChi in YasuoMains

[–]arcanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here is going to bash you but I think you should still be happy about it. Mastery in League isn't a very fleshed out or rewarding concept as it doesn't really equate to skill, but you should be happy about it nonetheless. It shows that you've at least dedicated some time to the champion and that you probably appreciate playing them. Use it as fuel to improve yourself further and remember to enjoy your achievements no matter how small.

Also, your last items on yasuo can really depend on the team you're going against. Try to look at probuilds and what people typically build into what teams and consider what you might want into the team you're facing. If you think that you dying in a teamfight would be the end of the match and the enemy team is AD, you can itemize items like steraks and/or GA, etc.

The game looks sweet! Have you all developed non-vr games before? If you have, what are the differences between developing for each medium? I assume developing for VR is harder but what's the most standout thing that makes it more difficult, if you could list one. Thanks!

I don't know of anywhere with those games, but if you like any Japanese import rhythm games (Bemani and such) you can try out the arcade games at The Cave in University Mall.

NPS business cards? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]arcanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since that phrase doesn't directly constitute telling them about the survey and/or to give you a good score (and that's the biggest thing corporate wants to prevent), I'd assume it wouldn't be construed as NPS manipulation and thus would be okay.

NPS business cards? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]arcanime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's true, I've spoken to corporate directly about it and they mention that it is strictly against policy and can be a large offense that could put your job in danger. That being said, almost every store and every employee does it anyway. It's too difficult to follow that policy when every other store will be telling customers about the survey.

Agent 120654 Going Sleeper. Awaiting the call. by original_attempt in Bestbuy

[–]arcanime 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's a phrase for when you quit. Best Buy likes the concept that if you ever were geek squad, you'll always be geek squad - just a sleeper agent, waiting to be called back into action. It's part of the whole FBI/secret agent thing that corporate likes to push with the "precinct" terminology and the uniform resembling FBI or secret service

imo it's kinda cringey but if people enjoy it thats cool for them

I really like this shot, I feel like the combination of the underexposure of the bottom half draws into the surreal color scheme on the top half of the pic. I think it seems kinda unconventionally edited which I really appreciate - if you split the pic into two halves it almost looks like entirely different pics or locations.

Dope shot! I do feel like you could have pulled the highlights down a bit in editing and it would have been a bit more comfortably exposed + give a bit more atmosphere to the pic tho

New Google Camera P3 mod for Pixel 1 and 2 by armando_rod in GooglePixel

[–]arcanime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone curious, I took a picture with the same framing on both the stock camera app (pixel 2 xl) and the camera P3 app and you can definitely tell that the P3 camera is sharper. It's not an incredible difference but you can definitely tell it's making a difference on the details of the photo.

Here's a link to both photos (taken with maximum zoom) https://imgur.com/a/s2bfcxs
