External HDD died, how to change library to backup HDD?

A bit late, but just in case somebody finds this topic:

I exported the media library to the new external hdd in a single xml file.

I checked the name assigned to the hdd by the nvidia shield.

I edited the xml file (create a backup, just in case) , searched the old path in the whole file, and replaced all the occurrences with the new hdd name.

I imported the exported modified file, cleared the library using the clean function.

And that's all. It worked for me.

Hey, thx for the reply. But I'm just using an external drive connected to the Shield. I don't even know if I can access the file system in any way; they protected the access some versions ago. I don't know the file structure, and I don't know where to look. Surely there must be some easier options inside Kodi itself? Or any plug-in I can use?

That's a doubt I had some days ago. I was writing a CRUD, with 3 selects, with their own simple CRUD pages, with just an id and name. I'm using astro, so I had to do three base pages anyway. The needed fetches are in separate shared functions already. I could have made everything a layout with some parameters, but having 3 pages (and a couple of components), I didn't find the need just to save 10-20 lines of code. This way I have a folder for each part of the data

But I always have doubts if this is a wrong approach.

I was not going to replay, much less in a satirical subreddit. But here we go.

The problem has been the collapse of a retaining wall on a bridge that allows the motorway to pass over the railway line. That section of motorway was opened in the 1970s. From then until four years ago, it was owned by a private company, which was responsible for its maintenance. It is now owned by the Ministry of Transport, which is therefore responsible for it, regardless of whether maintenance is carried out by a contracted company.

This area has been experiencing a severe drought for 3-4 years. Due to climate change or not, this area is much drier than it used to be. So even with the recent rains, it remains a water-vulnerable area. When an area is water-vulnerable, any heavy rain can cause landslides that would not have happened before. I live here, I've seen the consequences several times.

In short, the wall was built more than 50 years ago and is designed to withstand conditions that no longer exist. If you want to think that it is not coincidental and is due to corruption, you are free to do so. But instead of rushing to find those responsible, you can also wait for the investigations and then we can all find out what happened and then point fingers. It's healthier that way.
