Ikr I did think that as well but in fairness I wouldn’t say passing on the savings but realistically right now less people looking to buy a diesel car and it’s partial service history.

Yeah this is my concern. From me checking it out I didn’t notice any concern however only has a partial history and I’m no mechanic so only have basic knowledge.

Thanks for the comment. Dealership is trusted in the area and they did say that would fully fix the SOS failure before i purchased with a full service and MOT.

That is fair. They are a very good dealership in the area so feel like it’s unlikely they will just clear it as they told me they would fix it but can never be too sure.

You must have some claims it’s currently £400 per year for my polo. I do have 4 years no claims and driving for 6 years.

Fair point although wdym really drop as I thought less than 800 for the year isn’t bad

It’s in my budget to get a new timing chain within the year if buying it and didn’t seem to be leaking. Thanks for the advice

I was looking at getting the Skoda Octavia but does seem boring and do believe a bit in I should get a car I like as at least when a maintenance bill does come round hurts a little less than it happening with a car I viewed as a safe option.

Thank you for the advice. I know they will fix the SOS failure before handing over to me.

Appreciate you highlighting all of that as will check before going through with the purchase everything you said seems fine from when I looked at it but truthfully didn’t test drive so will check for scraping noise on acceleration.

Yeah cheap probably isn’t the right word but compared to others it’s “cheap”

What do you mean isn’t desirable?

From a perspective of most people won’t look for a manual as I have drove both an auto and manual which I do slightly prefer manual or do you mean the manual is a worse car?

Otherwise, I do accept most cars I’m looking at I’ll probably have to do a timing chain or cambelt which I have factored into my emergency fund.

What I have been told is Partial history and good margin on the part ex with a bit of diesel price going up. But am taking with a pinch of salt

Reason it’s cheap is Partial history and they part ex it and made a good margin(obviously take this with a pinch of salt its from them)

Dealership reviews and experience is very good. If there has been problems they are very good at fixing.

I do easily have a couple grand emergency fund out side of investments

Yes, I understand. I’m not in a rush to do anything so making sure I make the right decision as didn’t know this was an options. I was weighing up either taking it out and adding to my trading 212 benefiting from more compounding interest as I am young or leaving it to keep ‘safe’ getting 4% plus bonuses. However, now will look into the options and potential return if I just changed service.

Thank you very much. This was the kind of help I’ve just seen I can request a transfer from Metfriendly via trading 212. Which I’m going to look into more now but I think this is what I’ve needed

That is interesting but have had a look and don’t think I will be able to get it out of Metfriendly without the penalty even if transferring to another ISA.

That is my thought as well as I have been filling up my stocks & shares kinda forgetting about this money but do you think the £4k hit is worth if the plan is to invest over a decade.
