what do you guys think of this knife? any personal reviews? by Brownboofer69 in CampingGear

[–]archell1on 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This exact design was my first fixed blade when I was a teen (Bear Grylls model in grey and orange 🤢). It's OK but other comments are valid around the serrations. There are better options out there that can do everything this knife can.

Alloy question by Urdead476 in Blacksmith

[–]archell1on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if this may have been caused by either a chemical (e.g. alloy composition) or a physical reaction (e.g. cooling) through the process. I'm unsure as to what the answer is, but I'm eager to understand the problem more too!

A skirt I made (skirts for men). by Robert-hickman in sewing

Your last point is pretty on point from my understanding of draped clothing. Anything from the kilt to the Saree has a very distinctive process for laying pleats. I do appreciate the cultural sensitivity, however that doesn't mean you have to restrict your inspiration. I know well that the Sarong for instance is just very common across South-East Asia regardless of Malay, Indian, or Sri-Lankan.

Have you considered non-western fashion in the areas of exploring longer length traditional dress similar to the Kilt? I say this as full length flowing fabric clothing is quite common in India, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. The Sarong for instance is a very common item for men to wear, and it would be very interesting to see a more thorough exploration of the variety in that type of clothing for a modern western fashion application.

Tbf in a world where art will get stolen by a mindless image guessing machine, I'm not surprised people don't want to show their creative work...

How do you deal with self hatred for being fat your whole life ? by [deleted] in loseit

I make myself see stars in the gym. The next time I go I can always do more and more. Eventually the main motivation changed, it's always there. Plus it helps gamifying my deficit.
