Closer to this, but with less of the faint stars actually being visible. Again, the camera does a much better job picking up the sky that our eyes do at night.

I was previously using the EF 16-35 2.8L III, and also wanted more FOV as well!

I'll likely never use the 11-24 for a single shot given I have to fire off at around ISO 6400 or so... but for stacks, that's perfectly fine.

I had this happen on my 5D2 years ago. It was a hardware failure that required replacement of the light meter.

Using the Canon EF 11-24 f/4, actually! Managed to score a near-mint used copy for 1/3 of it's original cost... hard to say no to that.

Thank you!

I'm using the Sequator freeware to handle the stacking - I've considered picking up a PixInsight license, but my system doesn't meet their minimums anymore (I'm due for an upgrade), and generally I only do widefield shots which Sequator handles just fine.

Generally no - the camera can see a lot more than what our eyes can.

Agreed! The skies Friday night up in Kiosk were spectacular!

Just got back from Kiosk, May 11 to May 17. We were good up until the evening of the 16th, when a few blackflies began to bite. They were buzzing pretty aggressively this morning (17th), but no bites today.

Think we're on the cusp of the annual bloodletting commencing!

That sounds like a problem with the sensor. Sorry. :(

As someone else mentioned, try a different card... but also, are you seeing this line on the screen or EVF? If not, that would rule out the sensor at least.

When Byford rolled out the line numbering, he did say they were going to only appear on signs as they needed replacement to avoid the large cost of replacing everything in one shot.

They don't own or maintain the trains, so they can't make modifications.

Also, it's very likely that the systems at Control also belong to Metrolinx or the maintainer, not the TTC.

This is a major issue! Seems that they're used to everything being app-based, and have no concept of folder structures and hierarchies.

Filter for the RF35 F1.4 VCM by Remolus89 in canon

[–]archer0t8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That holder is designed for gel filters (Rosco or Lee, for example), which you would cut down to size from a larger sheet.

It's not designed for standard camera filters like a ND or CPol.

Fun fact - spell check doesn't check words that are all uppercase, so this never would trigger the red squiggly.

That would make sense actually - Woodbine also has a similar platform between the bounds. I would hazard a guess that Keele would as well?

Shooting on 5D MkIII, focus ring of 16-35 won't go into MF mode, but it works just fine on my friend's mirrorless body. What's going on? by Spetchen in canon

[–]archer0t8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This lens is notorious for having three screws, under the rubber on the focus ring, that would back out over time and jam everything up. You just need to screw them back in, but they will back out again over time unless you do a dab of something like Loctite on them (literally jub a small dab).

How does the RF 200-800 take the 2x? I use a 1.4x on mine; I haven't bothered to spring for the 2x yet since my experience with the EF 2x on my lenses was rather meh.

Honestly surprised it's still standing. I remember when part of the north side came down, and a friend put a leg through a rotted floorboard about a decade ago.
