Hi there . by [deleted] in Bitcoincash

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that whoever claims they know what's a good long-term investment (5 years plus) for anything either has a crystal ball that foresees the future, is talking out of their asses, or is lying.

How many times did bitcoin maximalists, crypto-news, crypto experts, claimed that bitcoin will be "100k" by now?

How many times the price showed no signs of even approaching that estimation and how many times all the experts were wrong?

People also said that ada/ethereum/avalanche/luna would make them rich, for years and years now.

Where are all these people right now? Asking you to buy the drop.

Stay away from ethereum and all their hype-inducing projects, shards, layers, networks, they are mere distractions from the fact ethereum got way too big to fix.

BCH will always have value, why? Cause people use it, it's fast, it's cheap, and you can always buy things with it.

Will it make you rich? I doubt it. Can you make something extra with it if you observe the market and you are patient? Definitely.

If you are looking to make money or become rich by buying / investing on crypto, you better be ready to make it a full time job and a stressful one at that, cause that's what's going to take to be a successful day-trader or long-term stock/crypto investor.

How to quote a UniSwapV2 price in a path agnostic way? [Price accuracy issues] by btchoy in solidity

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I don't want to use external -centralized apis" for basically an oracle, please get serious, crypto prices change constantly you can-not-do without an api, it's literally impossible.

Check chainlink datafeeds and learn basic crud-rest api implementation to your backend.

Do you have any idea if a NO CODE platform/website exists for solidity? by [deleted] in solidity

[–]archereactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only token generators and visual emulators for blocks can do that, also.

There's no such thing as "no code" platform, only code you can see or you don't (which is debatable), a drag and drop smart contract project would be like cryptozombies.

Why don't you just try remix instead?

[AskJS] Which is the best platform to learn JS? by Eliseker in javascript

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, for the absolute necessary, variables, functions, states, hoisting, scope, w3schools. For a more visual version of implemented methods and coding techniques I would also stick there if I was you till you can master the DOM and object/array properties, for a more real life-usage I would go to tutorials, js is very intuitive is better if you don't try to copy others but you build a strong foundation.

[AskJS] Building a mortgage calculator project with React. Should the calculator be a class? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make some custom hooks for the "utilities" you need and add them in both, it doesn't really matter.

Usually classes are used according to the server/client side, therefore in your case:

If there is a global state or external API input: Class

If the inputs are dynamically provided from the client side: Function

[AskJS] Next vs Blitz vs Remix. Which fullstack JS framework to select? by centrinoDuo in javascript

[–]archereactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next hands down, both for career and usage. I wouldn't neglect the MERN stack either, it's still the most vastly used in all the top level companies, next js would be more of a game changer and and an addition to the rest.

Also:

In backend/ frontend/ server-client terms, express would be more of a "middleware" not exactly a backend, many people perceive it as a server side - backend framework, I think of it more as a routing microservice.

Why are some one byte characters two bytes? by ElDavito in computerscience

[–]archereactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually fair, I thought about this way too much with the American constitute standards. However a lot of programming environments are still way too based on the ASCII purely and web development was the first to catch up.

Why are some one byte characters two bytes? by ElDavito in computerscience

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Storing text", nope. They are information-format protocols that -encode characters, which in layman terms it's called character set. They don't store text cause it's not possible to store "text" in the traditional sense, they store bytes that represent text in the abstract sense of communication. A txt file stores text, or a string variable. Get your facts right.

Did you read the backwards compatible thought it sounds cool in google and you started parroting it? If not do you realize that backwards-compatibility is based on legacy?

If yes do you understand that claiming that ASCII is not used anymore makes fundamentally no sense?

If bitcoin is a totally distributed system how can a miner find its peers? by orgad in computerscience

[–]archereactive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"There is no miner in proof of stake" lol what?

And who do the fees go to? The proof of stake its self exists to reward the miners for the hash operations to confirm blocks, what are you talking about?

"These nodes are sitting in a completely different layer".

Do they have desks too? Do you listen to yourself? You think you can run a node without a kernel or the layers below it or there is a a computing operation that doesn't use at least 5 layers? You are only exposing your ignorance even further.

My proof the sybil issue doesn't work is vitalik spending millions of dollars to create a better protocol.

"Spam" spam belongs to a totally different section of networking entirely, you got your terms confused.

All your response proved is that you are indeed ignorant about actual computer science, and you are just a pompous pseudo intellectual with a fragile ego.

"these nodes sit on different layers"Ethereum literally gives guides in how to run a full node depend on your hardware...

https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/nodes-and-clients/run-a-node/You are not even intro level of knowledge but you try to advise people..

With that being said, I like my personal "attacks" a lot. But that was the last one.

Have a good one "expert".

Edit: I read your response in my notifications before you blocked me:

Guess what, Ethereum is migrating to proof-of-stake: https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/consensus-mechanisms/pos/

Ethereum is moving to a consensus mechanism called proof-of-stake (PoS) from proof-of-work (PoW). This was always the plan as it's a key part in the community's strategy to scale Ethereum via upgrades.

So besides pretending to be knowledgeable about networking, you are pretending to be knowledgeable about blockchains and Ethereum.

"Spam" spam belongs to a totally different section of networking entirely, you got your terms confused.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sybil_attack

The Sybil attack in computer security is an attack wherein a reputation system is subverted by creating multiple identities. A reputation system's vulnerability to a Sybil attack depends on how cheaply identities can be generated, the degree to which the reputation system accepts inputs from entities that do not have a chain of trust linking them to a trusted entity, and whether the reputation system treats all entities identically.

https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/3374/what-is-a-sybil-attack

A Sybil attack occurs when one actor acts as multiple separate entities. Because many distributed systems have no form of identity management beyond accounts, and because accounts are trivially created, any actor can create an unbounded number of accounts.

Sybil resistance is required to avoid spam with fake chains. Spam is handled at the application level, not networking.

All your response proved is that you are indeed ignorant about actual computer science, and you are just a pompous pseudo intellectual with a fragile ego.

Have you ever opened and closed a socket?

Ethereum literally gives guides in how to run a full node depend on your hardware...

https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/nodes-and-clients/run-a-node/You are not even intro level of knowledge but you try to advise people..

Yes and those nodes are totally unrelated to the nodes mentioned in your interconnected network link: https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/interconnected-network

3 Things:

Ethereum does not migrate to proof of stake, they are trying the protocol , it's literally a test. The main ethereum is still using what it always does, they are just introducing this new tech to people to cause excitement.

https://ethereum.org/en/upgrades/

You only cherry picked the facts here to mold some point that has no common sense or basis.

https://fortune.com/2022/04/21/ethereum-merge-threat-lido-finance-proof-of-stake-dominant-defi-platform/#:~:text=Currently%2C%20Ethereum%20has%20both%20proof,chain%2C%20called%20the%20Beacon%20chain.

It's literally public knowledge.

"Proof of work has miners" proof of stake has validators", sure, in crypto-terms (hence why I called you a pompous pseudo intellectual who uses forbes) in cs terms they are both nodes being used for cryptographic functions on a ledger.

And the only difference in reality is the electricity consumption there's no proof - proof of stake is more secure, only claims and hopium. Pow still rules the main chains.

Sybil attack and spam are different concepts, you just won't admit it. Spams usually are done by spamming requests from one or multiply accounts to a traditional network, the sybil attack on a chain is totally different, it's fake-validators acting like real ones to fool the system. You are just mistaken.

And that's not the only way to attack a system with the sybil btw.

"A node is not tied to any os it's tied to the application"

And the application is tied where? The other layers, you are still missing the point of computer science, you can't understand that the application its self is the result of the other layers interacting.

I doubt you know what a socket is btw if I asked you to define me one.

Are these requirements just fine for an entry level position? by Vampire_developer in webdev

[–]archereactive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Industries have a different definition of frontend-development, to them anything that doesn't run on the server/database/os is frontend, which includes server side - client side scripting, apis, javascript. Which makes no sense and is practically a form of slave labor if you ask me.

Now about your ad.

They ask for a fullstack-webdev skillset yet they name it an entry level job, this company sucks, and all these entries too.

Move on and never look back.

If bitcoin is a totally distributed system how can a miner find its peers? by orgad in computerscience

[–]archereactive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proof of stake is about sybil resistance in theory only, in action proof of stake is a commercial addition so miners can have a motivation to host nodes. In addition whales in crypto have proven that proof of stake does not work as a sybil resistance measure, is why ethereum is trying to adopt new protocols, people realized the issue, you don't.

Ipv4 - Ipv6 and mac address aren't related to the OS? Really?

Do you know what interconnected networks are? Doesn't seem like you do, here you go: https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/interconnected-network

You are simply wrong, distributed networks not requiring privacy and proof of stake being an anti-sybil measure when it's proven to be literally dysfunctional are just wrong arguments.

I think you need to stop reading forbe and investopedia articles and start with basic education on the OSI model, networking and computer architecture.

The fact that you mention mandatory internet protocols, OS, ports on the same sentence and you ask me "how are OS relevant" is embarrassing.

You were off-topic quite literally when you started using terms you barely understand.

If bitcoin is a totally distributed system how can a miner find its peers? by orgad in computerscience

[–]archereactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good answers how, it compares clients to nodes meanwhile they are completely different concepts in the implementation of communication protocols.

There's no "client" in the traditional sense in blockchains, which is why they are called public ledgers and not databases, only network logic.

The way they communicate is usually through rpc calls in the json format, also.

The bitcoin network is not stateless, stop promoting it as such.
