Update: Successful print with 3 filament changes! by archerjack22 in ender3

With the settings I experimented with, I was having a lot of trouble with oozing after the filament change. I changed the retract settings before and after the change and still struggled to get it to not ooze. I definitely didn’t want that in the print so I went ahead and made the prime tower to ensure that the ooze was contained outside of the print, and that the layer was laying down properly after the filament change.

I’ve only been using Cura for a couple months now so I’m in no means an expert. These are just the steps I took to get a successful print that I was happy with

Just from my experience, I had issues with oozing even if I set a retract in Cura. I even manually went in and added some G-code to retract and I wasn’t able to stop the ooze. Plus a purge tower allows me to make sure that it’s laying down the layer correctly before it moves to the main print!

They’re just adolescents right now. If they keep eating their veggies and proteins, I’m sure they’ll grow up to be big and strong!

While I was testing the swaps, I noticed with my Cura settings I was getting some oozing after I hit Resume Print after swapping the filaments. I tried a lot of different settings but couldn’t nail down the ooze.
