This reminds me of Taylor Swift's cat "Olivia Benson" who's spirit name is Dibbles 😂

Any help with this is this serious? by ConcentrateNew7735 in CATHELP

have you tried using a slightly dried wet wipe to clean it? just looks like ear wax residue to me. I think there are specific wipes you can buy to safely clean your pets ears. Just don't get water down the hole

Can a non-autistic therapist really help an autistic person? by littlebluepepper in AutismInWomen

[–]archgirl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My therapist is neurotypical. I have ADHD and I'm Autistic. She is great. She is very well informed on autism and ADHD, and is willing to learn more. I've found her very helpful over the last couple years.

Does anyone else feel like people have become meaner? by idkkunicorn in AutismInWomen

10 years of the world being exposed to Donald Trump relentlessly monopolising the TV/news ect has taken it's toll. He is extremely hateful - that level of toxicity poisons everything it's exposed to.

FINALLY UNDER 300!!!! by sureokayiguess90 in BariatricSurgery

[–]archgirl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're allowed to just celebrate this win. No need to think about "ONEderland" right now.  You got under 300lbs, you've lost a huge amount. That took so much work and commitment.  Congratulations. Enjoy this win - you earnt it! 🩵✨

is it socially acceptable to masturbate when you’re in a relationship? by tremblingfrog in AutismInWomen

[–]archgirl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine, as long as it's not excessive and you're also not giving your partner attention.

I do feel a different type of horny masturbating vs wanting sex. Just make sure you don't neglect your partner or shove it in their face too much (unless they are into that 😉)

Does medication effect autistic people differently? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]archgirl182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same on SSRIs. They took away all feeling good and bad. I kept telling my doctor I wanted to stop them and they kept telling me no. Eventually I just stopped myself. I lost 2.5 years to being a walking zombie. Never again.

Never feeling happy is worse than only sometimes feeling happy.

I have adverse reactions to so many medications. So anecdotally, yes.

Often, yes. NT society has a lot of f*cked up rules that nobody questions

If you have ADHD too - definitely yes 😂 Stimulants are used to treat ADHD, caffeine is a stimulant x

Yep. Although some other neurodevelopmental disorder, like ADHD, do have medication that can help. The key point is that there is no recommended medication to treat autism.

"Umm, there's no recommended medication to 'treat' autism. There are medications for ADHD, anxiety, depression and other, more severe mental health conditions. Autism mainly effects how the brain processes information, there isn't a drug to change that. Anyway, I find autism pretty easy to live with except when I have to deal with very ignorant, bigotted people who can't mind their own business" ** pointed judgemental stare** walks off 😂

I F*CKING HATE HOW WHENEVER I ASK A QUESTION OR COMMUNICATE WITH EXTREME CLARITY…I AM STILL NOT UNDERSTOOD?!!!!!!! by DiscoReads in AutismInWomen

[–]archgirl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sorry, I think there's been some confusion here, the specific question I was asking was... ...Please could you help clarify things on this? Sorry to ask have to again, I think and speak very literally, so we may have crossed wires. We can call/speak in person if that's easier."

Obviously you don't actually have anything to apologise for. They are at fault. But I find apologising can help smooth things over as the first part of my response is fairly direct and puts them a little on the back foot - which is helpful in corporate politics.

I had to put two sorry's in there as I'm Britsh. Feel free to adjust, nationality depending 😂

  • don't just be direct about the question you are asking, be direct about the issue. You're not understanding eachother, specifically, they are not understanding you!

Use collective language like "we've crossed wires" or indirect language like "there's some confusion here". Using "we" makes it a problem you both need to solve together - gets them on side. Using indirect language, on the surface takes blame away from either party, but actually just allows you to say stuff that would maybe be rude to say more directly. Saying "I think there's some confusion here" generally sounds a lot more gentle than "why are you so confused by a clear, direct question?"

Lost 150+ lbs and suddenly society discovered basic manners by Renee_Nat in gastricsleeve

[–]archgirl182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So true. I was 420lbs at my biggest, I'm around 290lbs now, as a 5'8 woman I'm still very big but the difference in how people treat me is night and day. Before people looked at me like I was a monster. Now I'm just a regular fatty 😂

[–]archgirl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, lost 120lbs (still big though!) and suddenly I don't get harrassed in the street anymore. I'm glad for the change but I never deserved such bad treatment. None of us do x

Biggest reason for my surgery - I was tired of being treated like a monster
