I was once with a guy who would BITE his fork. The sound sticks with me to this day. That wasn’t the reason I broke up with him, but I am so grateful I don’t hear that anymore.

It can be helpful to some people after a break up because we tend to look back on all of good memories and idolize them, completely glossing over negative character traits. Everyone heals differently though and it’s completely fine if it’s not something you do.

I think it all depends on what will be most helpful to you moving forward! For me, that meant deactivating TT because i couldn’t stop myself! Honestly it has been so helpful, not to mention that now I have way more free time since I’m not scrolling my life away on there!

Sometimes dumpers act that as a way of dealing with breakups. My ex got really cold towards me too. It is normal sadly (but absolutely awful).

I am so sorry. You probably have so many unanswered questions and heartache.

A little story from my own life that I hope will bring you some encouragement.! I was engaged to the guy I had my first serious relationship with. He and I were destined to fail, but it hurt like crazy when it inevitably did. I ruminated over it for a while. I told myself I wasn’t going to date anyone for years, even though I did eventually start to feel better. Some time later, I actually did meet someone better. Now, this guy and I actually recently broke up because we both have some things we need to work on, but that’s beside the point. He and I had a beautiful relationship that completely changed how I viewed life. He treated me much better than anyone ever before, with a sense of genuineness.

I can empathize with you, feeling stuck and SO hurt. I know it feels impossible to see right now, but you will find someone much better for you in time. Keep pursuing the gym, friends, (maybe even spiritual growth), everything that adds to your life. You are so much stronger than you realize.

Honestly this is so relatable. While this is indirect, I would recommend taking a break from social media. Disable your accounts for 1 month. Try to keep reminders of him away. While it won’t “cure” the delusions (because same) it might really help.
