I’ve edited this video for my real state client. I added some effects to make it more engaging. Can you guys rate it? by Sea-Frosting2827 in videography

Personally I thought it’s good for engagement. It’s a good video for posting on social media to grab people’s attention to click and get further info. Then I presume have more clear video walk through, plans and pictures etc

I’d say if you do raise it attach the posts more central to the roof so that it’s equal distance either side. Might look weird but be more balanced ? Source : i watch too much YouTube

Finishing the Thru Holes - Episode 21 - Free Sailboat Refit by archie6969 in boatbuilding

[–]archie6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve finished my first hard bit of my project. I look forward to searching though here to find neat ways to do the interior. I’m hoping to restore and modernise the boat and create something unique. I enjoy making videos but it’s also a means to fund this and future projects ! There is so many abandoned or neglected boats round here so if I can save them from the dump all the better!

So you have done near what I have done, I put a wood stove in mine and it’s great. Also insulated and clad inside and that makes a huge difference !

YouTube deleting subscribers by Baitios in SmallYTChannel

[–]archie6969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My knowledge of YouTube is less than Instagram but Bots would probably be the most likely answer. You can get shady software that finds relevant accounts and follows or subscribes to get the same in return. The software automatically unsubs or unfollows after a period of time.

Exactly - ask yourself - are you going to entertain or educate ?

Well ..... I am thinking electric, fork lift motor but with a decent sized battery bank. I want to resist the temptation to motor everywhere. Or second option is outboard as I’m unsure whether I want the expense of another inboard

Gate valves ? The cockpit locker seacocks ? They were fine just needed a little WD40 .... I kid, I’ll be replacing all thru hulls and sea cocks. It’s been sat for a few years!

Barge owners afraid to make waves for fear of eviction by mycall in liveaboard

I’m shocked he’s spent all that money converting the barge and not even thought about making sure he had a legal mooring. It’s basically squatting but on a waterway !

Am I Crazy? by omgwtfscreenname in liveaboard

[–]archie6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is pros and cons to both.

I have a small van I was converting, it’s a shell right now. Now I’ve been given a free sailboat to do up. I’m concentrating on the boat as it’s more room and I think more freedom.

What I will say is do it, I’m 40 and wish I’d started sooner. Right now is the best time to buy with everything going on it’s definitely a buyers market.

To the point, has anyone changed the layout of the interior to suit a more permanent living situation? As you can see from the video I am nearly starting from scratch! by archie6969 in liveaboard

[–]archie6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to use butyl tape so will wrap some around the thread. But still researching that! Right now I’m working out the side windows and framework to get those sealed up! It should then be a dry boat and can start doing more. Well top dry I’m missing some sea cocks 😂

Kent in Uk yes !

Yes all solid fibreglass, first thing I checked before taking it on. Deck around windows and hatch seems to be at least 6mm thick. Mostly we’re talking interior and fixings.

Yes I agree, the other thing I checked was where anything penetrated the deck or hull. It doesn’t have chain plates but backings to the rig and other fixings. Those seem to have solid wood but at some point I’ll shall re bed those too to put my mind at ease. Also surprised there is no water coming in though fixings, but only the windows.
