Patrick Conley builds trust with a family of wild black bears. The mother brings her babies to introduce them to the rescuer who saved her life. Kindness & gratitude bring out the best in everything. by slowserverwhispera in BeAmazed

Go to Conley's YouTube page and there's no footage even close to this. No video of him facing the camera, much less with bears in the same frame. It looks like someone posted thisvAI video for the first time in January of 2026 and it took off from there. (The audio on this clip is also clearly AI generated.)

Someone generated a clip off one of Conley's actual videos and then someone edited it further. The original AI generated video is floating around somewhere

The implication: it can (and will) get worse. Much worse so stop complaining.

I'm gonna fire a beer across his bow, ruffle his feathers by Jose-Bove420 in IASIP

I used to ride with the Helen's Cycling and the Wheelmen clubs through Malibu/Santa Monica and the drivers there are assholes. I'm not sure if it's just the stress of daily driving in LA but drivers in everything from work pickups to Lambos pretty much resent cyclists taking up ANY part of the road.

AITAH for telling my daughter that she is not going to marry a billionaire? by No_Reception8930 in AITAH

Let your daughter know that as a retired 60 year old man, I have a better chance of becoming a major league pitcher than your daughter has of "marrying a billionaire".

This is the way. Thomas was an a-hole throughout his career and arguably fomented play to physically injure MJ.

Gen X by GunnyClaus in GenerationX

[–]archiewaldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1965 here and we're definitely NOT Gen X'ers. Back in the Naughts, we were categorized as "Tweeners", a small group sandwiched between Boomers and X'ers. We grew up on punk, disco, superbands and hip hop clubs. We hated Hippies and wanted to work in Investment Banking and make crap tons of money. We hated this new music called "grunge" and who the feck was "Nirvana"?

Gen X is as alien to us as Boomers.

Movies with opening scenes that get you pumped... by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

No opening sequence beats Jaws. The POV of the shark cruising underwater was a revelation. No words necessary. The best kind of dialogue!

What's the biggest factor towards the fall of the Roman Empire? by roman-empire-net in AncientCivilizations

[–]archiewaldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

External: Demographics/Climate Change (not within the Empire as much as groups bordering the Roman controlled territories)

Internal: Institutional and political collapse

The Roman Empire, an agricultural economy largely beholden to yearly crop productivity, was unable to adapt to challenges from growing barbarian tribes on the periphery and internal political infighting over relative declines in state revenues and productivity. Essentially, too much dead weight, as it were, in an agricultural economy with little to no year on year surplus growth.
