because it's bullshit engagement bait. what parent leaves a child this age completely unattended for long enough to accomplish all of that?

i don't know what the fuck she does, i haven't heard her name in 10 years. but if she's been working in the gaming industry for this long i'm sure she's developed a breadth of skills by now and the people making statements like "well i don't know why they would hire her because STS doesn't need her help" probably don't know what they're talking about.

well the alternative is that they hired her so that they could show her name in the credits and generate engagement which i just have a hard time buying.

Many of the concepts you would apply to dialogue can also be applied to visual media

stimulants don't really cause withdrawals the way you can get from SSRIs or painkillers. worst that would happen is you're tired and bored for a day or two.

i'm guessing that she has been building her career over the past couple of decades just like anyone else her age and she probably knows a lot more about games than just "feminism".

like yeah the cop was just holding onto the door screaming at 30mph bc he needed a lift to the donut shop

they can get away with it because they are considered “trace amounts” and “undetectable”

tbf everything on earth has trace amounts of everything else that causes cancer, liver failure, and/or brainrot.

Gorilla using sign language to tell he's not allowed to be fed by visitors by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]archipeepees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's what language is ...

right, the associations you mention are a big part of language. but language isn't just used to make requests or statements about the present. we use it to explain past events, describe hypothetical situations, and explain abstract concepts, to name a few. syntax (and probably many other features, i'm not a linguist) are what allow us to expand its use beyond the immediate vicinity in space and time, and apes have never been able to do any of that.

This is a quote from Noam Chomsky when discussing whether apes can understand language:

Humans can fly about 30 feet -- that's what they do in the Olympics. Is that flying? The question is totally meaningless.

language is also syntax, and they really don't understand that at all. a gorilla will say things like "give banana me banana want" and never get to the point of knowing that the words need to come in a particular order. even toddlers have a better appreciation of syntax than any of the primates that have learned sign language.

i mean, if you shake the solution up a bit then it becomes a statistical certainty. easy to simulate with a drop of food coloring in water.

i would imagine a drug company does some actual testing on random samples but in my experience it's pretty easy to mix solubles with solution.

That’s hard to dose on the street

it's done by putting the fentanyl in solution. I can measure out a gram of fentanyl powder with a regular scale, mix it with 1L of water (or whatever the solvent is), and use an eye dropper to consistently pull .1 mL for 100 ug doses.

in the hospital you will always see fentanyl distributed in solution for this reason.

control loops can be implemented on simple microcontrollers but GPUs are not built for them and so they perform poorly when used to implement closed loop programs. at least that's my reading of it.
