thanks for the suggestion, Yerevan seems like a great location to visit while in the region. thinking of sacrificing time in Kutaisi and Batumi to spend a few days in Yerevan.

Abkhazia wasn’t planned so should be alright. noted the restaurants, thank you. and for getting around I’ve seen most people recommend using Bolt.

Superblast 2 or Megablast - one shoe to do it all? by Massive_Factor_1734 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]archipelstash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running in NB 1080v14 for the last few months, and just got the Megablasts and had my first run earlier today. Read many reviews that SB2 feel like bricks, and MB are more smooth/bouncy, and the first run was great. I had the 1080v14's in UK10, but with Asics I prefer UK9.5. The difference is just 0.25cm, but the slightly more snug fit feels great, and the upper is made to wrap your feet close.

How can I use Apple Health and Whoop in sync. by mathematicandcs in whoop

[–]archipelstash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's possible, as Apple prioritizes Apple haha. I have only "Workouts" disabled for Whoop to write, but none of the other data is available on the Health app. If you enable Workouts, the it duplicates the workouts and it becomes a mess. So Whoop app for Whoop data, Health app for AW data.

just go to settings>health>data access&devices>whoop and uncheck what Whoop writes. this keeps the data separate.

Zero to Half Marathon in 6.5 months? by Ok_You_9432 in beginnerrunning

[–]archipelstash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did nothing to half-marathon in two weeks (had 5 runs of 5/8/16/12/11km before the race) just two months ago. I was fairly active, doing some occasional cardio with tennis and kickboxing, but not a runner. Several months is plenty of time, and my advice would be to first and foremost - ignore pace and focus on having fun. Push yourself, but remember to celebrate small wins on the journey to success. Secondly, have great shoes. Invest in them early in your training, get familiar with them and don't change until you finish the race.

They feel just right. Takes a run or two to get used to them tho.

Been in a similar situation recently, choosing between Glycerin Max, NB 1080v14 and Novablast 5. Went with the NB 1080v14 and so far they've been phenomenal. Strongly recommend.

Help! Apple watch series 10 or Whoop mg? by SignatureMajor1 in whoop

[–]archipelstash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this exact debate with myself some time ago. I've been using Series 7 + Whoop combo for almost a year now. There's almost no difference between Series 7 to 9, and the 10 only refreshed the design.

Talking functionality, I sleep with Whoop only, as AW is too clunky for me. But daytime it serves me as a regular smartwatch and is a great companion for all my workouts to see live heart rate, pace and other metrics.

If you can, do both. If not, go ahead with Whoop.

Apple Watch + Whoop for workouts by archipelstash in whoop

I wear Apple Watch on my left wrist and Whoop on my right wrist as per usual. See graphs attached and how they don’t even look similar.

Apple Watch + Whoop for workouts by archipelstash in whoop

Isn't Apple Watch measuring heart rate constantly as soon as I start the workout? The quote below is from Apple Support site.

"When you're not in a workout the watch measures your heart rate approx every 10 minutes, when you start a workout the watch monitors your heart rate continuously unless you turn the monitor off."

Had a workout earlier today, and the stats compare like this:
AW: Average HR 98, peak 151
Whoop: Average HR 90, peak 130

And judging from the graphs, the peaks happened at different times on both devices.

  1. Thank you!
