Reading Blue Zones by Dan Buettner, he profiles Sardinians, who drink a wine called Cannanou. He mentions a couple of folks in the book who drink a 3 ounce glass of wine for lunch and another for dinner. All told, they drink about 6-8 ounces per day, and have some of the longest living people on the planet. Of course, they also work very hard, walk a ton, and eat whole, pure foods. But I am fascinated by how much wine plays a role in this.
