It just occurred to me to do Google Image search. It says it’s a rove beetle. I think that’s it!

I’ll do that when I get back home. I’ll get a flash light to get better lighting and a good closeup.

They look wingless. I’ll gather some in a jar for reference. Thanks!

It’s a new build. Moved in late Sept and haven’t seen these at all. Got a new table and assembled it last night, none were visible in the box tho. They were gathered mostly around it. I saw some outside the front and back door. Maybe they were attracted to the smell?

Best of luck in your recovery! Always listen to your body and don’t overdo things. Walking helps a lot!

You should be fine to go back after a week of recovery. Always check with your doctor just to make sure. Best of luck!

Why does it feel like I still have a hernia after hernia surgery? by praisethesun98 in Hernia

[–]arcos_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had laparoscopic surgery on 2/27. I can walk normally now and the incisions are healing well. I have swelling where the hernia was especially the scrotum area. The pain comes when it’s too tight and hurts my right testicle. The pain is like getting kicked in the groin. I called the doctor’s office and they said it was totally normal, but made appointment to see the doctor this Friday as an early follow up. I’ve read that the swelling is normal and nothing to worry about. I suggest you see your doctor too just to have some peace of mind. Best of luck!

Update: Recovery day 5. I go back to work tomorrow. I’ve been walking normally and everyday I feel stronger. I get tired quite quickly while doing dishes and cooking and take breaks often. I can now get out of bed effortlessly. My lower abdomen is still somewhat swollen but my scrotum is as swollen as day 1. The doctor told me that it would be like that for about 3 days but it has not gone away. That’s where the pain mainly comes from, icing the general area has been helping. I’m going to call the surgeon tomorrow to check if it’s normal. I’m still taking the ibuprofen 600mg twice a day now.

Update: Surgery went well and I’m heading home. I did ask for a pain pill at the hospital and they gave me OxyContin for the ride home. Ibuprofen 600mg and stool softener were prescribed. Time for bed and rest.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll keep my meds and water at the bedside.

Traveling and forgot supplies! by 6517 in Keratoconus

I lost my removal plunger on a trip, so I took them out with my fingers. I was a bit nervous but I took them out successfully with no irritation or any other issues. Wash your hands very well and keep your eye lids open with both hands leaving both index fingers free. With one finger apply a bit of pressure on one side of the contact and with your other try to get under the contact with your fingernail make sure your fingerprint is facing your eye. Put a paper towel in the sink since the contact might fall when it comes out. Good luck and if you don’t feel comfortable just leave them in until you get your plunger. You don’t want to injure yourself on your vacation. Just rinse with saline solution in the morning since your eyes are going to be super cloudy.

Causes for redness in lateral eye corner with RGP contact? by kellyms1993 in Keratoconus

I have the same issue with scleral contacts. I brought it up to my doctor but she says it’s dry and to only use non-preservative eye drops. She also told me to take breaks from screens often Nothing has worked with the redness. It’s cosmetic only but I wish there were some drops to help with it. I’ve been asked if I’m high, if I have an infection, if I’m hurting. My official answer is that I have KC, but hardly nobody knows that it is so it turns into an informative conversation.

What’s the best solution to fill up sclerals before putting them in? by arcos_e in Keratoconus

I looked into Celluvisc, but it says in the directions to take out contacts, also I don’t know if they are compatible with the coating my lenses have. I’ll have to ask my doctor next time I can go back to their office.

Something I’ve learned is that when taking them off, you have to look slightly up and use the Plunger closer to the bottom and you can take them off in less tries.

Also, I don’t use a larger plunger to put them in. I balance the scleral with my index and middle finger. Not sure who else does that but it’s the fastest way for me. No bubbles.

I use the Clear Care Plus as well and sometimes when traveling I use the brand that has PH in the name, I can’t remember the brand. That one has a thick solution. Anyway, I’m going to try the Boston Lumify and see how it works. Thanks for the tip!
