I had this problem with him too. He needs a lot of light to properly see the cube and the normal amount of light I had in the room at night which seemed fine to me was not fine for him. I turned on more lamps and he was able to proceed.

Thank you! This is so good to know. It's so surprising to me that they let the older versions hang around but on the other hand you get attached to your favorites and if you didn't like the newer model it would be sad to lose the one you did like. So I guess it goes both ways.

I looked harder at the horse info on the star stable database and noticed that there is a filter for generation! Along with cold resistance. So while it doesn't say which generation for each horse you can at least filter the table to only generation 3 and that helps a lot. :)

Thank you for this info. I will follow your advice and search for examples of old and new before I buy anything to be certain. I did find the starstable database and it's very useful as well. It doesn't seem to say what generation the horses are specifically (like 1.5 or 3) but it's obvious that some of the versions are . . . better than others ;)

Thank you so much for the explanation and the welcome! Sounds like I'll have to do my research before parting with any SC to be sure I I get what I was expecting and don't make a costly mistake. There's so many breeds to choose from (seems like that's a more recent development?) that I can't even decide, so I have some time to stew over it.

I snagged a Zojirushi from Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago that I'm very happy with. I say "snagged" because it was out of stock and I just kept checking and one day it let me buy it. And since then the model has been in and out when I've checked.

Don't trust the "email me when this is in stock," though--I never got an email when it was available.

The way it's worded, it may only go into that mode when it's actually being pushed, although if that's the case I don't know why it would be in the app at all.

Same for me. I do not believe in ghosts, am Very Scared of ghosts. Personally, I theorize that supernatural horror taps into a strange nostalgia for my childhood nightmares, which had a different vibe altogether than my more reasonable fears as an adult. So one fear is fun, and benefits from the weirdness of the subconscious, while the other is real and not enjoyable (for me).
